COL Shaffer on Donny Duetcsh last night and although he is an articulate spokesman and very sincere, unless he can produce DOCUMENTATION other than the talking points memo he prepared for the 911 Commission, this story will NEVER get the coverage that it deserves and no matter what he produces the MSM coverage will never approach that of Cindy Sheehan.

I follow your logic but respectfully disagree, for one simple reason: Any documents connected with Able Danger would be classified. The only way that LTC Shaffer would have been able to produce the documents would be IF HE STOLE THEM FROM HIS PREVIOUS ASSIGNMENT. And I would argue that the standard for LTC Shaefer should be no less than it was for Joseph Wilson, who didn't even file a written report upon his return from Niger. That's right, no documentation. I do agree that the Left wants to kill this story, but I guess it's our job to keep that from happening.

It's coming out that the "ABLE DANGER" program came up with the name of Mohammed Atta via a study of radical Islamists linked to the "blind Sheik" Omar Abdel-Rahman who is in a US jail and who was implicated as a leader of
Egyptian Jihad which is closely connected to AL QAEDA (some intel analysts say they basically merged in the '90s). The "blind Sheik" was a leader of the group that plotted the FIRST WTC bombing in '93, and now it appears he may also be linked to 9/11 (not necessarily in operational terms but as an Islamo-fascist instigator and 'spiritual' motivator) via Atta!!

So, MSM drones, if this is all borne out by further investigation, it seems that DURING THE CLINTON ADMINISTRATION we had the key to unraveling the 9-11 plot but the information was not allowed to be shared from SOCOM to the FBI because liberal "Pentagon lawyers" (Jamie Gorelick's drones) were nervous about it.... then they shut down the ABLE DANGER program entirely....

btw, the "Blind Sheik" is they same guy who was aided and abetted (while in US jail) by Lynne Stewart, depraved radical lawyer who has been CONVICTED for her role in helping the Sheik pass communications to his followers abroad about new attacks..... and "Mother Sheehan" who has been protesting in front of the Bush ranch in Crawford, TX spoke a truly depraved rant against the USA at a forum defending Lynne Stewart (the tape was on the O'Reilly Factor the other night)...... so Cindy Sheehan has allied herself with fellow leftists who are defending an accomplice of the 9-11 terrorists..... great, Cindy, way to honor your son's death and sacrifice!

August 24, 2005 -- WASHINGTON — A Pentagon secret intelligence team identified 9/11 leader Mohamed Atta through a probe of blind Sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman — the mastermind of the first attempt to destroy the World Trade Center, it was revealed yesterday.

An outside contractor to the intelligence unit, code named Able Danger, has told congressional staffers Atta's name was discovered by a computer data-mining search of connections to Abdel-Rahman, the Muslim cleric in prison
for inspiring the 1993 trade center bombing and a plot to blow up New York landmarks.

Contractor James D. Smith testified that a California researcher was later able to purchase Atta's photograph from an Islamic Web site, officials confirmed.

Smith could not be reached for comment.

Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer — the Able Danger liaison who first went public — yesterday told The Post Atta popped up on the radar screen because his links to the blind sheik paralleled those of the 1993 trade center bombers.

"[Data analyst J.D. Smith] found Atta by linkages not to immigration issues but to the mosque system," he said. "Basically [Atta] was associating with known
radical clerics."
