Former prisoner of war Jessica Lynch, whose capture and rescue in the early days of the Iraq war turned her into a US icon, said in an interview that the US government had used her as an upbeat symbol in the conflict.
"I think I provided a way to boost everybody's confidence about the war," Lynch told Time magazine.
"I was used as a symbol. They could show the war was going great because 'we rescued this person.' It doesn't bother me anymore. It used to," she said.

Jessica Lynch needs to use this situation to milk the media all that she can! She needs to capture the spotlight while she can get into the headlines.
If you've got it, exploit it and use it to rack in the money.

This is sad. I really think that she is just not the brightest bulb in the house. She served her country in time of conflict. She was wounded terribly and will suffer physically probably for the rest of her life. For this we should all be grateful.
However, her fellow soldiers risked their lives to rescue her and she made a bundle off the publicity and her book deal. I think she got caught up in the whirlwind of celebrity and is now going through emotional withdrawals.
She would be well served if someone reminded her that the people that saved her life did not make millions, they did not bask in celebrity status and they did not and do not trash their country.
Maybe this "deem" girl is not thinking very clearly or maybe she just ran out of money. She really should STFU and get on with her life. Thanks for the service. I will allows appreciate that.

It seems to me that she should be grateful to the US for rescuing her sorry butt. I never did believe her story about firing her weapon to the last bullet and fighting the terrorists. I bet she hid under a vehicle and surrendered without a struggle.
