Now that the U.S. attorney has declined to prosecute a Secret Service agent look-alike who ejected three people from a March 21 presidential forum, why does the White House refuse to say who he is?
Karen Bauer, Alex Young and Leslie Weise (who have been styled the "Denver Three") arrived at the event at the Wings Over the Rockies Museum in a car bearing a "No More Blood for Oil" bumper sticker.
They were removed from the event by a conservatively attired man with a lapel pin and earphone whom they believed to be a Secret Service agent. The trio had tickets for the rally where President Bush pitched his Social Security reform plan.
U.S. Attorney William Leone said there wasn't enough evidence to prosecute for impersonation of federal agent. His spokesman, Jeff Dorschner, added that the man didn't show credentials or say he was a federal agent. Initially the White House described him as a local volunteer but later backpedaled, saying he was part of the "event staff."
Because he wasn't criminally charged, officials wouldn't identify him - even to Colorado's congressional delegation.
The "case" of the Denver Three isn't the biggest political scandal going, but it does seem to provide an intriguing look into how the White House works to control its image and message at what are purported to be public events. It also bespeaks an unseemly pettiness.
Many of us remain curious about the identity of the mysterious and officious enforcer, and about who gave him his marching orders. There still may be a chance to find out.
"We are, with certainty, going to file a lawsuit ... and during the course of that lawsuit, we'll find out who that person is," says Daniel Recht, attorney for the three.
Maybe it was Karl Rove...
Yup... must have been double secret LOL
Sorry, girls. It was me. I give in.
That was good, very good. Maybe true LOL
No, I am Spartacus!
From left, Leslie Weise, Karen Bauer and Alex Young had tickets to President Bushs meeting on Social Security reform but say a man they thought was with the Secret Service forced them to leave.

figures.....
I don't see that there is any scandal at all here. Three whiny babies got ejected from an event they were there to disrupt and now they whine? God spare us these mamby pamby crybabies.
>>>why does the White House refuse to say who he is?
Maybe it is under investigation? Not available to public yet?
Duuuh!
He was a secret service agent who was on double secret probation at the time of the event.
Lessee....Leslie Van Houten, Squeaky Fromme, and Tex Watson, right??
OMG! I thought they were three GIRLS!
BWAAAHAHAHAAA!!!!
I'll bet this guy lives in Denver and if he does, he better move. The 'RATS will be trashing his house and threatening his family once some "judge" helps them find out who he is.
