If the moderates weren't doing something there would be suicide bombings in the US on a daily basis.

Anything to keep the Saudi's happy, eh George?

How about the many passages in the Queeran which are unambiguous calls for butchery? Are they somehow not "quotable?

It's our job then to stay ever vigil.

You're right, and I believe when there is any other event, illegal immigration and the border will be an issue that lights up for all Americans like the mid-day sun. The borders will be forced to be handled IMO.

What can he say. He really knows better, and if not then he has a bunch of bozo's guiding him. He like Blair and anyone else will continue to make appeals to the moderate muslim communities (those that do not follow the Qu'ran in all it's verses, along with the Hadith and other writings), and cross his fingers and see if he can end his term on a high note, of withdrawing the troops from Iraq, and not having any major catastrophes in the US. This is going to go on for a very long time. Islam is simply incompatible with anyone other then countries ran my muslims. Call it a clash of civilizations. And you will not be far off the mark.

Is it me, or do others now get that characteristic bile taste in the throat reading story after story regarding this backward cult and its various contributions to society? How long will western governments keep up the politically correct crap and refrain from calling a spade a spade?

I'm not sure I agree with these remarks, but what is the President of the United States supposed to do... Go into a Howard Dean screed and incite violence all over the world or speak softly and use the big stick.

For three decades no American President did anything to stop the spread of Radical Islam or confront it. For all those who think this President is pandering to Radical Islam, I suggest you sit down and get a grip. Thousands upon thousands of Radical Muslims have been brought to justice or justice brought to them.

Much like every Tyrant we have ever went to War with, we always praise the people and demonize the leaders and devout followers. This conflict is no different

"# "We see in Islam a religion that traces its origins back to God's call on Abraham. "

If GWB really believes this then that means he really does not know what the hell he is talking about, and the muslim clerics are just laughting at him. The remark is totally erroneous.
Judeoism traces it's origins back to Abraham. God made it clear he would be the father of a great nation, that later under Jacobs growing tribes became Israel.
Islam came about only in the 7th century. It's roots where in pagan worshipping of stones and iconic dieties derived from other religions in the mid east. The Arabs worshiped these dieties for a long time before Muhamaad ever walked the earth. He simply picked allah the moon god from the 360 dieties in the kasba and set it up as the only real god.
Later as more integration was done by conquering, Islam took on the facade that allah was the same god worshiped by the Jews. So in no way, can one trace Islam back to Abraham. To do so is showing one's ignorance on the subject.
