Many times.. I've come to expect that there and in the larger churches in Mexico City and Rio. What I had to laugh at was this was actually a Baptist church in East Texas that was quite dogmatic on every issue other than gluttony and apparently money changers in the church.

To make Jesus more PC, they will probably make him a pro-abortion, married homosexual vegan, who looks like a composite chimera like figure representing every race, who's best pals are Moses on one arm and Mohammed on the other.

A very different take on religion, NBC's animated comedy "God, the Devil and Bob," angered many Christians and flopped several years ago.If the writer of this show doesn't understand the core values of Christianity, this one will flop as well. Hollywood is usually wrong, because they often try to mix it with the pagan beliefs of the left.

This sounds like that old flop "Nothing Sacred" repackaged.

I've never seen this in a Baptist church, thought the "Baptist Book Stores" (now "Lifeway") are full of such trinkets.
I suppose it should not be a surprise. The mega-churches have long had gyms, bowling alleys, hair salons (the higher the hair, the closer to heaven) and such attached to them.
The point in my first comment was that Catholics can be pretty tacky as well.
If you want good taste, stick with the Episcopal Church - of course you may lose your soul, but at least it will be dignified.

It can't be as blasphemous as selling cheap plastic crap (WWJD) in Jesus' name. I visited a church once that actually had a store in the lobby selling bibles, wwjd crap, and other trinkets.. Big difference between trinkets sold in a church to the faithful and a mass media propaganda program being foisted upon a somewhat gullible public as cutting edge entertainment.

Hmmm. I wonder which groups will be "contributors" to this program?

You are right, Jesus outright condemned 'money changers' in church but didn't have a lot to say on entertainment venues.

The media and the demoncrats are gonna show YOU that they have morals.Reid has put up a faith based website.
Peloski has been showing up on the Trinity Broadcast Christian Network (Joel Olsen show).
The democrats are trying to become "The Christian Party." (Of course they kill babies, support abominations, want drugs legalized, love the tax collectors, spread plagues, teach children damnable heresies.....you're just not suppose to notice.)

You should check the 'Reformed Episcopal Church' it is a branch of the African Episcopal Church instead of the Church of England. Similar beliefs to the Celtic Apostolic Church of Scotland in that it is less 'Romanized' and more conservative. It would be almost a transparent transition to those from the Church of England strand of the Episcopal.

What's next - a television series about Jesus as a rappin' hip-hop artist?
I can see it now...Jesus making his grand entrance, gold chains a-clankin', wearing baggy pants with the crotch dragging on the floor, slapping his nail-scarred hands against his chest while rappin 'Yo yo yo, I'm Grand Master J and I'm gonna save yo soul so you ain't capped on Judgement Day'
Given Hollywood's disposition towards religion, it wouldn't suprise me on bit.
Word.
