France faces drought, locusts (insecticides that may work are BANNED)

On top of a severe drought, France is fighting a plague of hundreds of thousands of locusts.

The locusts are devouring everything from crops to window-box flowers, reported the Observer.

The French environment ministry said drought could be felt across most of France, but it mostly impacted from the Atlantic Ocean to Paris.

"There is nothing we can do for the 700 or 800 farmers affected," said Patrice Lemoux, an agriculture official. "The locust has no known predator and the only insecticides which might make a difference are banned."

Maybe they could "un-ban" the insecticides...

I wonder how much wealth Africa has lost because eco activists forced them not to use what would have protected their crops over the years.

Now it's happening in France.

Maybe they don't have birds in france? One year locust hit my area and the birds ate so many of them that the birds would sit around on fence posts and look groggy from being so stuffed full of locust. It made a huge difference in the number of the destructive little beasts I will tell you.

"The locust has no known predator

Well other than frogs, but we can't spare them.

I suspect the next story we read about this will say that French farmers have gone on strike and demand that the government "do something."

The insecticides they did have were sent to Saddam to be converted to biological weapons. Darn shame.

Sounds more like the work of a higher power to punish the French surrender monkeys.

How many years will it take the French government to unban them?
