Karl Rove, Whistleblower

Karl Rove, Whistleblower July 13, 2005; Page A14

Democrats and most of the Beltway press corps are baying for Karl Rove's head over his role in exposing a case of CIA nepotism involving Joe Wilson and his wife, Valerie Plame. On the contrary, we'd say the White House political guru deserves a prize -- perhaps the next iteration of the "Truth-Telling" award that The Nation magazine bestowed upon Mr. Wilson before the Senate Intelligence Committee exposed him as a fraud.

For Mr. Rove is turning out to be the real "whistleblower" in this whole sorry pseudo-scandal. He's the one who warned Time's Matthew Cooper and other reporters to be wary of Mr. Wilson's credibility. He's the one who told the press the truth that Mr. Wilson had been recommended for the CIA consulting gig by his wife, not by Vice President Dick Cheney as Mr. Wilson was asserting on the airwaves. In short, Mr. Rove provided important background so Americans could understand that Mr. Wilson wasn't a whistleblower but was a partisan trying to discredit the Iraq War in an election campaign. Thank you, Mr. Rove.

leave to the WSJ to actually give the whole story instead of the revisionist history going on everywhere else.

He exposed a CIA OVERT agent, she wasn't covert by any means. How can you be covert if you show up everyday to work at the HQ!

FOX News had the only good coverage with this story yesterday- they even reported on the other liberal media feeding frenzy as if that was news in itself (which it is)

Thank God for the WSJ and FOX, which are the only two news agencies who have told the truthful side of this story so far (that I'm aware of, anyway).

Fox is the only place that I get my news these days. I hope the rest of the bunch goes down the crapper.

I saw this morning on CNN the bald-headed douchebag "political analyst" (I don't remember his name, I rarely watch CNN) reporting on the Rove matter. I had already read the Byron York piece posted here, so wanted to see how straight he'd play it.

Yikes! Talk about wilfull disregard for the truth! He still treats Wilson as credible, third-party source.

Imus and Harold Ford were busily spreading lies about this story this morning.

I don't think I've ever seen Imus be so accepting of hogwash from a guest.

Harold Ford called Wilson a patriot on Imus this morning. Imus didn't disagree.

The same media which exhaled a collective yawn when Sandy Berger was found guilty of stealing and destroying classified documents is still trying to lynch Rove for telling the truth about Wilson. But of course, there's no such thing as media bias.

Rove should have done something the media doesn't care about- like stuff classified documents in his underwear and steal them from the national archives, or rape Juanita Broderick

"Mr. Fitzgerald has become an unguided missile,... even as it becomes clearer all the time that no underlying crime was at issue.

This is what Judge Napolitano was basically saying on Fox News last night. If your a Special Prosecutor and you get the "BIG FISH" your a celebrity. If you don't get the big fish, your toast. So you might not get him on what he did, but what he said afterward.

Imus sucks butt with every liberal he has on. Of which, he has more of than conservatives.

You got that right! I would not give that bunch the time of day. Anyone who talks to them is asking for trouble.

Ford also questioned Rove's manhood. Said if you have a beef with a man, don't go after his wife.

I lost all respect I may have had for Ford this morning.
