SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Islamic leaders and peace groups are criticizing the California National Guard for a flier posted in its headquarters suggesting the United States execute Islamic terrorists with bullets dipped in pig's blood to deny them entry to heaven.

The flier attributed the practice to World War I General John J. Pershing.

"Maybe it is time for this segment of history to repeat itself, maybe in Iraq?" the flier stated. It was posted outside a cubicle in the Guard's Civil Support Division.

A second flier showed the wings and tail of a bomber forming a peace sign with the slogan, "Peace the old fashioned way."

Can someone provide an authoritative source detailing General Pershing's conflict with Moslems? On a quick look, this is, like, bats.

Bravo! I wholeheartedly agree. Give the terrorists what they most fear.

What's wrong with that?
They're the enemy.
And since they are, we'd better intern the ones who are here.
It kept the Japanese from blowing up the aircraft factories, and it may keep the muslims from blowing up the UN Building.
On second thought...

While we are at it, the airlines should offer to ship pork products for free. They need to fill their cargo holds (and flight decks) with lots and lots of pork so that the remains of any terrorists will be mingled with it all in a crash.

Amazing what the "Islamic" leaders speak out about. Nothing but silence on the bombings and other atrocities.

By complaining, the Muslims are implicitly admitting these nuts are Muslims, acting out- and not just whackos using the religion as a crutch, or excuse.

I don't know how authoritative you want it, but how about this?

"It's troubling to see a governmental organization dedicated to the security of our country promoting culturally and religiously insensitive ideas," said William Youmans, spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations

troubling? go lose some sleep.

How ironic that so-called peace groups would be opposed to this. The quickest way to peace would be for the moon-worshippers to have something to be afraid of. (Or could it be that "peace" is not their goal after all?)

Let's see. It's bad to dip bullets in pig's blood, but it's ok to rape virgin 9-year-old girls so they go to hell when you execute them.

Why are Islamic leaders worried about how terrorists are executed?

It's true that it could be one of those "war stories." I'm currently reading a book about Jean Laffite, of Battle of New Orleans fame, and it's very discouraging to see how many of the long-accepted stories about him are not supported by any documentary evidence.

The same thing happened when the recent "definitive" biography of Stonewall Jackson came out.

In the case of Gen. Pershing, if this is a fiction, it seems to be a fiction composed contemporaneously. He was a distant relative of my late grandmother, and there's no doubt he was a toughie.
