SAN FRANCISCO Anti-war activists submitted a ballot measure Monday that would put the city on record as opposing the presence of military recruiters in public high schools and colleges.
The nonbinding "College Not Combat" resolution acknowledges that a ban would put schools at risk of losing federal funding.
If the measure qualifies for the November ballot and is approved by voters, it would encourage city officials and university administrators to exclude recruiters even if it means forsaking government dollars and to create scholarships and training to reduce the military's appeal to youth.

But remember, liberals "support the troops" so don't question their patriotism.

Military recruitment opposition is suicidal behavior.
Those bums should be herded into mental hospitals and given electro-shock therapy.
Given the location, however, the people involved would fight for position at the head of the line!

I would say recruiting from the San Fransisco area would test the" don't ask don't tell policy" of the military.

That's fine, just don't call the rest of the country to come to your rescue when your city gets hit.

Maybe we could help SF slide off into the sea.

"Then the federal goverment should ban federal funds from entering San Francisco." Got it in one. They are free to pass such a ban, but are they willing to take the consequences. Same for any school district, anywhere, which passes a ban on recruiter visits.

What in idiotic statement.

The Hollywood movie the dirty Dozen showed Lee Marvin recruiting for his suicide mission in the worst prisons,
and those prisoners with no hope but to die injail. This seems a gross distortion of the facts. But I still maintain if you recruit in a bathouse you will get someone who fits in with that crowd -but why would one want to recruit a bathouse cruiser? IMO our Armed Forces ought
employ the old FireHouse rules. Those house that do not desire to contribute ought not be protected as readily as
those that have contributed much.Seems that would quell the dissent in a hurry.

Not as idiotic as your sentence structure.

Liberals do not support the troops. They're hypocrites about having Americans shed blood to keep them safe and they don't want any part of it. If they loved this country, they'll volunteer to get in the front lines. Since they have a problem with our military, perhaps its time for them to move to Cuber.

A couple of miles of fence and some barriers on 2 bridges and it's a done deal.

I never thought in my lifetime I would see activity this unbelievably idiotic. This is just flat out suicidal. You can disagree, you can "not support," you can attempt to change other's minds though discussion/advertising/intimidation, you can even protest against it in the streets. But these guys have crossed the line and are flat out opposing their own nation, protectors and agentswith no particular plan for an alternative.
And they call us fascists? I have no words.

I am not holding my breath till they go to Baghdad as "human shields" to protect the innocent children there from the homicidal bombers.
Really protecting someone would be a lot different and require significantly more courage than the symbolic acts these gutless wonders practiced before Operation Iraqi Freedom started.
So far only one of these types has died trying to really help the Iraqi and her death was in the news for only a few days... put your ass where your mouth is...
To: LoudRepublicangirl
In the future San Francisco will be the home of the "homocidal" bombers...
