Thanks - not that I live nearby.

I am just always very interested in earthquakes; and I do live in an area that will no doubt have a huge one any day or century now.

You're welcome. :-) They are very interesting. What's fascinating is that you can pick any day, and there are going to be at least a hundred earthquakes reported for that day. Dynamic Earth seems always to be settling or moving at some point in the globe.

It does seem that there are a large number of major quakes, but if you consider that every single day there are at least a hundred quakes over magnitude 2.5 occurring all over the world, then it's easier to put it into perspective.

For example when I checked yesterday there were 146 quakes over 2.5 magnitude. Today it's 155 quakes over 2.5 magnitude.
