Do you think George Lucas will go forth in the tradition of L.Ron Hubbard and actually make a "religion" out of his jedi story?!

There are some people who have actually tried that. Usually West Coast people.
And there is at least one bunch in Washington State that holds classes in speaking Klingon.

I remember reading a few years ago that there were over nine thousand people who listed Jedi as their religion on a survey.

I remember reading a few years ago that there were over nine thousand people who listed Jedi as their religion on a survey. I know there was a campaign in Australia during their last census to have people declare themselves as Jedi under the religion category. I simply thought it was limited to writing the word Jedi on a piece of paper. I don't know that it ever got more involved than that.

Ever been to a Sci Fi convention or a Trek Party? There already IS a religion.
About as worthy as Hubbards, too.

Nope, there were over nine thousand people who put Jedi down as their religion. Whether they did it as a joke is another question.

Well, if that religion could come up with a true, working lightsaber (one a laser that can cut through any metal and makes cool sounds when swung), it may have a large following!
