Why Isn't Sandy Berger Going to Jail?
National Ledger ^ | June 30, 2005 | Tom Fitton

Posted on 06/30/2005 9:53:59 PM PDT by yoe

Former Clinton National Security Advisor Sandy Berger pled guilty on April 1 to smuggling five classified documents, including a highly secret memorandum.

Two men walk into the National Archives [no this isn't a joke] one steals letters dating back to the civil war then sells them on EBay. The other steals classified documents related to terrorism then destroys them in order to deceive investigators. Which man receives the stiffer penalty.

Read the whole article then contact your congressmen and senators about this - it is unconscionable to let this man only pay a fine...demand he receive jail time and demand to know just what is being covered up. Is Bill Clinton getting away with his dereliction of duty again? It would seem so.

The answer is in the article: Clinton.

No one connected with that administration can do any wrong.

Why Isn't Sandy Berger Going to Jail?

Because Hillary still has all of those files. If Berger was really in danger of going to jail, he would be dead already.

Why?

Because the Bush Administration and the "Justice" Department don't give a damn what politically-connected higher-ups do. They let Sh$%head and Mrs. Sh#%head skate completely, and will do the same for all their underlings.

It's the Big Government types scratching each other's back. Simple.

The Bushes and the Sh#%heads are very buddy-buddy; that's all there is to it.

This is the first I heard of ol' Fat Sandy Burglar pleadin' guilty...
The press sure buried this story.

And we still don't know what he ripped off, why and for whom...

Now for that, I would give him a lighter sentence but without a complete confession, I'd have to see what he looked like in an orange jumpsuit.

Kelly

If we could morph Bush's testicular fortitude and Clinton's ability to get away with fecal matter, we would have the perfect president

Because as long as your a RAT you can stuff highly classified documents in your socks ,and down your pants and walk out the door every day of the week!.........If a Republican ever dared do that, they'd not only be tarred and feathered by the MSM, they would get 35 years to life in San Quinton. You can take that to the bank!

I saw where J Watch filed a request for the DC Bar to investigate Berger's case for possible sanction.

But why did the DC Bar NOT initiate its own probe/review?

And this guy's getting his security clearance suspended only temporarily ?

This is the same great American who was a registered foreign agent for Communist China when Clinton hired him.

The comparative case in the article reminds me of the Clinton Impeachment, where the female M.D., J.D., federal employee was sent to prison for doing the same thing (on the job sex) Clinton did.

The following was on Rep Tom Davis' (RINO-VA) website almost a year ago. He has yet to call the promised hearings.

Davis to Investigate Berger Allegations

Washington, Jul 21 -

House Government Reform Committee Chairman Tom Davis (R-VA) announced today that the Committee intends to investigate allegations that former National Security Advisor Sandy Berger, in preparation for 9-11 Commission hearings, took highly sensitive terrorism documents from a secure reading room at the National Archives.

The Government Reform Committee, which has jurisdiction over the National Archives, is the primary investigative committee in the House of Representatives.

“These allegations are deeply troubling, and it’s our constitutional responsibility to find out what happened and why,” Davis said. “It boggles the mind to imagine how a former national security advisor walked off with this kind of material in his pants, or wherever on his body he carried it. At best, we’re looking at tremendously irresponsible handling of highly classified information – some of which, I understand, has not yet been located.

“At worst, his actions suggest an intentional effort to keep critical information away from the Commission and the American public. We are now left wondering whether the Commission, set to release its report tomorrow, had access to all of the information it needed to fully do its job. The American people’s faith in our review of 9-11, in our war on terror, in our transparency, is literally at stake in this investigation. It is my hope that Mr. Berger cooperates fully with the Justice Department as its investigation proceeds. Meanwhile, as we continue to afford him the presumption of innocence he deserves, we will fulfill our duty to the American people to get to the bottom of this disturbing breach of trust and protocol.”
