Breaking in DFW, Texas Rangers Pitcher Kenny Rodgers attacks Fox Reporter and others.
Did anyone in the DFW area just see it on the news?
Reporters have the right to be on the field..
He totally lost his cool. One reporter left on a stretcher.
Charges will be filed.
they wont need to suspend him...
Kenny Rogers is so freakin fragile he probably broke a fingernail or stretched a hamstring in the attack so they will just put him on the DL...
who said charges WILL be filed?
You gotta know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, know when to walk away, know when to run.
Obviously a Pedro Martinez prodigy.
"One reporter left on a stretcher."
Perhaps a CNN reporter? Just kidding...NOT! :]
Here's the AP story posted at ESPN:
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Texas Rangers pitcher Kenny Rogers finally addressed the media Wednesday -- in the form of an angry tirade that included shoving two cameramen.
Rogers also threw one camera to the ground and threatened to break others while walking to the field for pregame stretching before Wednesday night's game against the Los Angeles Angels.
The 40-year-old left-hander shoved the first cameraman, who was shooting video of Rogers, telling him: "I told you to get those cameras out of my face."
Rogers then approached a second cameraman. He wrestled the camera from Larry Rodriguez of KDFW in Dallas-Fort Worth, threw it to the ground and kicked it.
Rogers saw two other cameramen who were recording from the Rangers dugout and walked toward them. He did not make contact with the men, who were backing away.
"I'll break every
one of them," Rogers said before he was escorted to the Rangers clubhouse by catcher Rod Barajas.
The Rangers sent Rogers home about an hour later.
Rangers manager Buck Showalter, who did not witness the events, said the team will investigate.
"It's not something we'll take lightly," Showalter said. "When I have all the facts, I'll deal with it."
Showalter added: "One person was frustrated -- frustrated at not being able to win."
Texas has lost eight of nine entering Wednesday night.
"What Kenny did was wrong and we won't condone it," Rangers owner Tom Hicks said. "It will be handled internally."
Rogers missed his turn Tuesday night against the Angels because of a small broken bone in his right pinkie. Rogers was hurt after he came out of a game against Washington on June 17. Video clips showed Rogers knocking multiple coolers to the ground, then looking at his right hand.
Rogers has refused to talk to reporters all season, and on Tuesday night ordered television cameras turned off around him. He has boycotted most media since a report before spring training that he threatened to retire if he wasn't given a contract extension.
Hicks said he's aware that Rogers has a temper.
"Kenny has had a short fuse dealing with the media," said Hicks. "I've heard stories about what may or may not have happened. He has issues. It's directed at the media and I don't know why."
He wasn't holding nothing back, he let 'em have it all.
Well, just shows the thug problem in baseball is out of con....oops, wait, Kenny Rogers is a pasty white guy without tats. Nevermind.

A few days ago Rogers hit a cooler in the dugout while he was mad and broke his hand, thus can't pitch. He didn't break his hand during this incident.
Excellent. Thanks so much. :)
Lol, I was about to post the same thing when I saw the headline.
Looks like Kenny didn't know when to walk away...
Rangers' Rogers in altercation with photographers
06:30 PM CDT on Wednesday, June 29, 2005
From WFAA-TV Staff ReportsTexas Rangers pitcher Kenny Rogers was involved in an altercation at Ameriquest Field Wednesday afternoon with two television photographers.
The incident occurred around 4 p.m. on the field as the team was preparing for their game Wednesday evening against the Los Angeles Angels.
Sources said Rogers got angry with members of the media who were present as he left the clubhouse to head onto the field, and had a physical confrontation with photographers for Fox Sports Net and KDFW-TV (Ch. 4), the local Fox affiliate. It is unknown if the photographers suffered any injuries.
When asked for comment, Rangers manager Buck Showalter said he would need to find out more details before passing judgment on the incident.
"When I get the facts, we'll deal with it," Showalter said. "It's not something that anybody will take lightly, I can tell you that for sure."
Owner Tom Hicks apologized for the incident on behalf of the team, saying that it was "not acceptable" and that Rogers was sent home before the game. He also said team officials were still "gathering facts", and he would defer any decision about a possible suspension to Showalter.
"Obviously, Kenny made a big mistake," Hicks said. "It will not be condoned ... Kenny is very emotional right now; he's been around the media a long time in some ways, and in some ways he hasn't, but he's getting a real lesson right now."
Rogers has already been under scrutiny for an incident that occurred nearly two weeks ago. He told The Dallas Morning News on Wednesday that he was fully prepared to take responsibility for the TKO of a water cooler June 17 that resulted in a broken bone in his right (non-pitching) hand. But, Rogers said, the injury and nothing else certainly not a contract extension was the only reason he couldn't pitch Tuesday night against the first-place Angels.
"I did something that was irresponsible,"' Rogers said. "I've done those things more times than I care to talk about. But I went out and made my next start, and I was a pitcher that simply didn't have a clue what I was doing. I am a feel pitcher, and I couldn't feel anything in my right hand. I didn't know what to do to make an adjustment because I couldn't feel anything. I don't think I threw a quality pitch the entire night."
The Morning News reported Rogers told Showalter on Monday that he couldn't make Tuesday's start because the pain in his hand had not yet diminished.

I threw in my fifteen cents to cover all the bettable lines and whammo - Royal Flush, which returned me a quick $45.00.
First spin! In and out like a fiddler's elbow!

Little Boy, in a baseball hat
Stands in the field with his ball and bat
Says I am the greatest player of them all
Puts his bat on his shoulder and he tosses up his ball
And the ball goes up and the ball comes down
Swings his bat all the way around
The world's so still you can hear the sound
The baseball falls to the ground
Now the little boy doesn't say a word
Picks up his ball, he is undeterred
Says I am the greatest there has ever been
And he grits his teeth and he tries it again
And the ball goes up and the ball comes down
Swings his bat all the way around
The world's so still you can hear the sound
The baseball falls to the ground
He makes no excuses, He shows no fears
He just closes his eyes and listens to the cheers
Little boy, in a baseball hat
Picks up his ball, stares at his bat
Says I am the greatest the game is on the line
And he gives his all one last time
And the ball goes up like the moon so bright
Swings his bat with all his might
And the world's so still as still can be
And the baseball falls, and that's strike three
Now it's supper time and his mama calls
Little boy starts home with his bat and ball
Says I am the greatest that is a fact
But even I didn't know I could pitch like that
He says I am the greatest that is understood but even I
didn't know I could pitch that good.
Not good for him, baseball, or the Rangers. Drug test him immediately, and then fire him.
lol I did the same thing,, searched thinking it would definately be posted.
