Indefensible Defense of the Democrats - (let's call them the "Demolition Dems")
THE RANT.US ^ | JUNE 29, 2005 | LT. COLONEL BOB LANZOTTI, (Ret)

The best defense is a good offense. Just Google this often used adage and you’ll find it is frequently applied to every conceivable walk of life…..sports, politics, medicine, business, warfare….you name it. Everyone agrees that you must go on the offense to win. Democrats have been on the offense now since the beginning of the second millennium, you know that era when the supreme court gave the presidency to W. A fair appraisal of the Democrat’s offense is simply, it stinks.

In the sporting world you often hear another cliché, ‘Offense sells tickets, but defense wins championships.’ Well, the Democrat’s defense doesn’t smell any better.

The problem with the Democrats is basically…..they just aren’t a very good team. Zell Miller got it right when he titled his book, A National Party No More. I mean, how in the world do you defend those offensive comments made by the likes of Senators Durbin, Reid, and Kennedy? And their DNC chairman, Howard Dean? You can’t. And then you have the starlet Hillary exclaim to the best damn Defense Secretary period, “I would hope Mr. Secretary that you and other members of the administration would immediately repudiate such an insulting comment from a high ranking official in the president’s inner circle.” She was, of course, referring to the Karl Rove statement regarding the Democrats’ dovish posture with our enemies. How could she say that when she had nothing to say regarding her colleague, Senator Durbin, and his absurd statement just a few days earlier?

Mao Tse-tung once said, “Politics is war without bloodshed while war is politics with bloodshed.“ Mao may rival Nostradamus in this prophecy as it certainly is applicable to our sorry state of affairs in Washington DC today. Excessive and deeply divided partisanship is never healthy, but in time of war, it can be disastrous.

While the Democrats ferociously declare their support of the troops, they abhor the troops’ commander-in-chief and everything he stands for and everything he does. Their obstructionism and apposition is undermining our war on terrorism, just as it did in another war they opposed four decades ago. They created that quagmire with their incessant pandering to the enemy. They now want an exit strategy and specified date for our withdrawal from Iraq. Again, they pander to the enemy. This request is so nonsensical it doesn’t deserve a response. If one is forthcoming it should be succinct in the manner of General McAuliffe when he was asked by the Germans to surrender his 101st Airborne Division at Bastogne. His response was, ‘Nuts.‘ That is exactly the kind of response our dovish democrats deserve.

In the very near future there will be vacancies within the Supreme Court. Mao’s quote, “Politics is war without bloodshed” will certainly be viable and visible for all to see. I am hopeful our majority launches a devastating offensive. Their opponents defenses are indefensible. They have found the WMD. It is them. The are the demolition Democrats.
