Mark Fuhrman: The facts of Terri Schiavo’s life (I read his new book today - five stars

This excerpt, from MSNBC, doesn't get anywhere near the meat of the book - where Fuhrman shows how Michael's inconstent statements, and the timeline of the morning that Terri collapsed, raise a lot of questions - and suspicions. Read the book.

I'm looking forward to reading Mark's latest book, just as I enjoyed reading "Murder in Greenwich" and "Murder in Brentwood".

Amazon has a pretty good page on it, with a good review and other book recommendations. They list it currently at #56, which is a pretty fast start.
On the other hand, a Google Search for "Silent Witness" turned up just about everything BUT Fuhrman's book. One more instance where you have to wonder if Google is messing with searches for political reasons. Usually, Google is great, but then you get a strange result like this.

Thanks for the post. I heard Fuhrman on Hannity this afternoon. Everything he mentioned, I've seen on FR at one time or another. The MSM took off on a formulaic story and never let facts get in the way. Fuhrman deserves profits on this one. I'm buying the book!

One more instance where you have to wonder if Google is messing with searches for political reasons. Me, too. When I put in the name of our troop support group at first our current thread was at the top of the list, with the introduction of all we have done.
Soon afterward, our thread couldn't be found, just an old one six or seven down the list...so I put a link to the new thread at the end of the old one.

I just watched the video interview of Furhman and Terri's sister from your msn page link. Very interesting interview! I agree with what they said, it would be nice if they had a grand jury hearing!

Oh, yeah, a guy that blew the OJ case by his sloppy investigation techniques is telling people how someone else screwed up. This guy is just doing this for money. I wouldn't believe anything he wrote. It might be entertaining but I wouldn't believe any of it or put any credence in his speculations.

Furhman could have had VIDEO of OJ beheading those two people and the jury STILL would have acquitted. That trial, in case you didn't realize, was never about the evidence.

Very smart analyst. Very methodical detective. Very savvy student of human nature. Very astute judge of human character.

You forgot "racist jackass" and "has no more knowledge of Terri and Michael Schiavo than any of the rest of us."
To: FauxBlonde
"has no more knowledge of Terri and Michael Schiavo than any of the rest of us." I had to laugh when I read this as you're doing exactly what you accuse Fuhrman of doing.
At any rate, he had access to people and documents they we haven't had.

Please describe how Fuhrman's "sloppy investigation techniques blew the OJ case".
Some people might not agree that Fuhrman is a bad investigator. One such person is Michael Skakel.

Ummm, MSNBC screwed the pooch on this quote. Conrad is a RAT senator from North Dakota. Don't believe any Rat senator came to Terri's aid.

If I live to be 80 that means I've got a few decades of reading left.
I don't read especially slow, but I don't have a lot of time for reading books over articles. I might consume 1-2 books every other week. That means about 52 books a year.
I've probably got less than 1500 books left.
Better carefully pick the titles.
So far, my favorite is the Gospel of Luke. (Honestly.)

I think Luke would even like Mark's book - it's all about getting to the truth. And in the end, hopefully, exposing evil. Get the book for Luke. :)
To: calex59
Whatever you may think of him, Fuhrman obviously went to Florida with an agenda. No one would want to read a book in which the "great detective" said that there was no crime. Thus, he had to find at least 'suspicion.'

He wasn't a racist. The word they used against him was the "n" word, He was recording for a book he was going to write with a professor.
The Chief of Police, a black man, reviewed every complaint that was alleged on the T.V. and he could find no truth in it. Did you not see the interviews the Chief had on T.V>
Also there were several people he had either arrested or aided in some way that were on T.V. and each had "nice" things to say about Furman.
I wish so many on FR would review what really went on instead of coming up with "name calling " and crude expressions.
Furman didn't loose the case the jury did. Simpson should have been tried by a jury of his peers, white elite people, he hadn't lived in the Black neighborhoods for years and years and years.

a guy that blew the OJ case by his sloppy investigation techniques is telling people how someone else screwed up.and...[someone else asked]...
Why is Fuhrman someone we should take seriously?
First, his only error in the OJ case was denying he'd ever used the n-word when some liberal reporter had him on tape. A dumb error.
Second, his book on the Greenwich murder forced a PD and DA, that had been complicit in a cover-up of long standing, to confront a heinous crime committed by a former resident from a distinguished family. Fuhrman's review of the evidence ultimately resulted in the perp, who had boasted that his family connexions and wealth gave him immunity, going up the river.
Using racist language isn't right, and certainly Fuhrman's lie about that contributed to the injustice that set OJ free. But consider the Blake and Jackson cases and what they say about law in California. And balance that against getting a wealthy murderer convicted.

I'm about halfway through the book. Fuhrman does a good job of explaining the medical details. When the paramedics found Terri on the floor of her apartment she had been without oxygen for approximately 7 minutes and had no pulse. How did she get that way? Fuhrman doesn't offer easy answers but he suggests some possible scenarios in very objective fashion.
In addition, the pictures of Terri from when she was a little kid, through her awkward high school years, and her transformation into a beauty in her twenties and then after her collapse are very compelling.

He should write a book on Ted Kennedy.

I beg to differ.
Having met Terri Schiavo's sister, brother, father, their lawyers, a few long term family friends, and many people who worked their behinds off to try and stop her murder, I have to tell you it was not a hard to do, "to have more knowledge than any of the rest us".
God forbid you ever have to beg the government to investigate the murder of a loved one, and be denied.
God forbid you ever have to watch a murderer go free, partly on the basis of a few casual, unrelated non PC remarks you once said out loud.
God forbid you ever endure the government deciding your loved one is a useless eater, and must be forcibly starved and dehydrated to death.
For your sake, I hope you believe in God, and pray that he will forbid such things happen to you.
I would never ask God that these or any other nightmares become part of your life, but I will enjoy a bit of scheudenfreude if I ever chance to hear of it happening to you.
