ON STAGE IN NEW YORK: The Reverend and the Rapist

AP STORY

From the article or Rev. Graham's American revival meeting in New York:

"I was just a little boy and I'll never forget it," said Clinton, who was joined by his wife, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton. "I've loved him ever since. God bless you, friend."

Graham called the Clintons "wonderful friends" and "a great couple," quipping that the former president should become an evangelist and allow "his wife to run the country."

===================================================================

When some of you read the above, it probably evoked projectile vomiting. I fought it off. The words of Rev. Graham were not welcome to my ears.

I phoned his offices and let the girl who takes messages know how much I have admired him and how disappointed that he made the comment about Hillary. I told her about Juanita Broaddrick and Easter Sunday in 1996 with the intern right after Easter Service. I let her know that it is the Clintons who mock religion.

The girl calmly told me that the reverend made the statement as a joke, it shouldn't be taken out of context, and he is not endorsing Hillary Clinton or the Democratic Party. My suggestion to her was that he should make a public statement and clear the record.

Regarding Broaddrick, she said that she doesn't know if Clinton has asked God for forgiveness. That is between the former president and God. By comment was that he should make a public apology to his victims, and Hillary should make a public apology to his victims, the ones she went after behind the scenes.

Reverend Graham, please clear the record.

Here is what Clinton should have said on the stage:

I have long admired Rev. Billy Graham. His appearance here today has inspired me to make an apology that is long overdue. Many years ago, I raped a woman in Arkansas. My wife knew about. I have assaulted other women. My wife knew about those. Because of our desire for power, we further assaulted the women by calling them liars and publicly trashing them. I want to use this opportunity to ask forgiveness from my victims and from God. I hope I can be forgiven. I will try to live a better life and atone for the things I have done. Hillary, is there anything you would like to say?

It's a shame after all this time, ONE exchange should change the clean life or a man who spoke about Christ.

Don't forget, satan never rests. Billy Graham has been used by God to reach a lot of people. satan would like nothing more than to sully Graham's reputation in some way before he dies.

Actually, my title should have been ON STAGE IN NEW YORK: The Reverend, the Rapist, and Satan's Daughter.

It appears to me that Billy Graham would rather "get along" with low lifes in D.C. than alienate himself from them. Like winning people over with honey.

I'm delighted that Franklin seems much more gutsy than his ailing dad ever was. I think Franklin is entirely capable of raising some dust and kicking over some "money-changers' tables."

Clearly God had a plan when He chose Franklin, that "wild" child, to step into his dad's footsteps!

There is nothing honorable about the Clinton's and for Reverend Graham to glory in their endorsement says more about him than it says about the grifters.

Billy Graham has tried very hard his entire public life not to speak ill of anyone. He has viewed his mission to be one of preaching the gospel, not publically judging the sins of everyone else.

He wasn't 'glorying' in anyone's endorsement. He was being Billy Graham - a man who loves and preaches Jesus and leaves the judging to God.

I have no problem with Graham's statement being a joke. My problem is in the Clintons being allowed on stage in the first place.

"It's a shame after all this time, ONE exchange should change the clean life or a man who spoke about Christ. For some that ONE exchange, which was a JOKE, makes BG the devil - ONE exchange as a JOKE. Apparently YOU never knew Billy Graham. Hopefully you won't be judged harshly when you tell a JOKE.

Don't forget, Billy Graham was a confident to BOTH sides of the aisle, Republican and Demoncrat a like."

I agree. I don't think we should take it too seriously. I think he was just trying to be nice. He WAS in New York and the people there, even christians, still like them. He is not worried about political issues. Graham might be the only person who ever approached him nicely about Christ. Who knows.

Billy Graham just didn't have to worry about these things when he was having his crusades, or visiting the White House. I wonder if mabe he is not sure on how to handle those problems. You are right. Franklin is very good and does not mind ruffling feathers.

I am actually surprised that he wasn't on stage with a friend in a black beret.

A good man was on stage who allowed a known and unrepentent rapist to share the stage. He allowed on stage with him someone who mocked the Bible, showing it off for the camera, then being serviced by the intern a short time later on Easter Sunday.

You can bet this "Kodak Moment" will be used for election propaganda and that was what this lovefest was all about.

I can tell you that had Bill Clinton said these words, Billy Graham would not have had to preach. As we would have said years ago " Revival " would have broke out in NY!!!

I figured the statement was made with more than a touch of irony ~ although the MSM is trying to make the statement sound like a ringing endorsement of the clinton's, even as they reported it it sounded like sarcasm.
