ON STAGE IN NEW YORK: The Reverend and the Rapist

AP STORY

From the article or Rev. Graham's American revival meeting in New York:

"I was just a little boy and I'll never forget it," said Clinton, who was joined by his wife, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton. "I've loved him ever since. God bless you, friend."

Graham called the Clintons "wonderful friends" and "a great couple," quipping that the former president should become an evangelist and allow "his wife to run the country."

===================================================================

When some of you read the above, it probably evoked projectile vomiting. I fought it off. The words of Rev. Graham were not welcome to my ears.

I phoned his offices and let the girl who takes messages know how much I have admired him and how disappointed that he made the comment about Hillary. I told her about Juanita Broaddrick and Easter Sunday in 1996 with the intern right after Easter Service. I let her know that it is the Clintons who mock religion.

The girl calmly told me that the reverend made the statement as a joke, it shouldn't be taken out of context, and he is not endorsing Hillary Clinton or the Democratic Party. My suggestion to her was that he should make a public statement and clear the record.

Regarding Broaddrick, she said that she doesn't know if Clinton has asked God for forgiveness. That is between the former president and God. By comment was that he should make a public apology to his victims, and Hillary should make a public apology to his victims, the ones she went after behind the scenes.

Reverend Graham, please clear the record.

I feel like there's some weirdass conspiracy by the CIA or the Illuminati to put her in charge.

But why. WHY???

I don't think Reverend Graham was joking at all. I think he was just catering to powerful people, which has alas been his great weakness over the years. Sometimes he seems to forget the first lesson of a minister -- original sin.

Yeah, Bill remembers Billy Graham when he was a kid, just like he remembers church burnings in Arkansas, and staying up late to watch the results of the Iowa caucus.

Has anyone checked to see if he actually did attend a Crusade 46 or so years ago? Was it at the same time those black churches were being burnt down in his hometown?

you must have forgotten that moment during the bent one's impeachment when the then failing-fast Rev. Graham appeared on Larry Queen and was snickering about Sick Willy's episodes with Moronica ... a very pathetic, dirty old man kinda snickering.

Billy Graham lost it long, long ago.

I was PHYSICALLY THERE.

It was a JOKE.

People LAUGHED, as they should.

It's a shame after all this time, ONE exchange should change the clean life or a man who spoke about Christ. For some that ONE exchange, which was a JOKE, makes BG the devil - ONE exchange as a JOKE. Apparently YOU never knew Billy Graham. Hopefully you won't be judged harshly when you tell a JOKE.

Don't forget, Billy Graham was a confident to BOTH sides of the aisle, Republican and Demoncrat a like.

Nice title. Sounds like a very grim fairy tale.

His great weakness, or the only reason us little folks even know his name?

Further Proof that Parkinsons or whatever Billy has, is a horrible disease that deteriorates the mind and body.

I believe that the Reverend Graham was mistakenly diagnosed with Parkinson's year ago, but that has never been his ailment. He has excessive faith in mankind.

Do we joke about adultery?

Do we joke about taking advantage of a young girl his daughter's age?

Do we joke about selling access to the White House?

Do we joke about selling our national security to the Chinese?

Do we joke about being impeached, losing one's law license?

There is nothing honorable about the Clinton's and for Reverend Graham to glory in their endorsement says more about him than it says about the grifters.

The reverend may be one the most gifted men in America, but he wasn't given much of a sense of humor.

Graham should have called the Klinton's "great friends" and a "wonderful couple" and left it like that. Notwithstanding your interpretation as it being a joke, others (such as Fox) reported the quote as if it was serious.

I think Reverend Graham was setting up the liberal Democrats by being seen with and complimenting the Clintons so that they would stop their Christian bashing. Reverend Graham probably left the stage and immediately washed his hands after touching the Clintons.

Oh, good grief, I wouldn't waste my time or theirs calling Billy Graham's offices to complain about a joke he made.
