From the article or Rev. Graham's American revival meeting in New York:
"I was just a little boy and I'll never forget it," said Clinton, who was joined by his wife, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton. "I've loved him ever since. God bless you, friend."
Graham called the Clintons "wonderful friends" and "a great couple," quipping that the former president should become an evangelist and allow "his wife to run the country."

When some of you read the above, it probably evoked projectile vomiting. I fought it off. The words of Rev. Graham were not welcome to my ears.
I phoned his offices and let the girl who takes messages know how much I have admired him and how disappointed that he made the comment about Hillary. I told her about Juanita Broaddrick and Easter Sunday in 1996 with the intern right after Easter Service. I let her know that it is the Clintons who mock religion.
The girl calmly told me that the reverend made the statement as a joke, it shouldn't be taken out of context, and he is not endorsing Hillary Clinton or the Democratic Party. My suggestion to her was that he should make a public statement and clear the record.
Regarding Broaddrick, she said that she doesn't know if Clinton has asked God for forgiveness. That is between the former president and God. By comment was that he should make a public apology to his victims, and Hillary should make a public apology to his victims, the ones she went after behind the scenes.
Reverend Graham, please clear the record.

Unfortunately, the Clintons have fooled people of faith over and over.
I disagree. Billy Graham feels he was called to preach the gospel, not judge the sins of others. I agree there are absolutes, and some of us are called to hammer on such things. That is not Billy's calling.
It was a joke, a quip, a light moment. Sheesh.
I can't believe 'conservatives' are pulling the same kind of crap the looney left has done with Trent Lott and the like.

"But this wasn't a one time statement. I always loved Dr. Graham, until I heard him say how much he admired Bill Clinton on Larry King. I could not help being so disappointed."
I heard that too and it was hard to keep the bile from rising in my throat LOL. I have just been trying to give him the benefit of the doubt and figure that the Parkinson's is eating away at his brain.
I grew up a Southern Baptist too and I never heard that rule, and if there is one, no one in my church regarded it LOL.
Me too!!
There are two part to preaching the gospel. One has to be aware of the sin before they can accept the grace of God. I don't see how that you can separate the two.
It was a joke, a quip, a light moment. Sheesh.

I heard the repeat last night - BG said he told Clinton that he should become an evangelist after he left office because he has 'all the gifts'.
Tell me, what should anyone get upset about?
It's a joke, it's a mistake, it isn't important, it's old news, that's the way they are, no big deal everyone knows the truth.
There always seems to be a reason, an excuse, for one to 'stuff' their concerns. Perhaps this is why our Republican politicians are weak in the knees - there is always 'someone' telling to 'Sheesh let it go'.
You have missed the point. We are not upset about the Clinton becoming an evangelist comment. That is an obvious joke. We are upset that Hillary is going to use Rev. Graham's comment about her becoming president as an endorsement. She will play the hell out of that with decent people in red states. Count on that. She is demonic.
Graham had to be on crack!
Tell me, what should anyone get upset about?

I responded to you because you mentioned the evangelist quip, not the Hillary quip. I was specific. You did miss the point.
You are right - I didn't include that part of her 'running the country'.
I see them as ONE force - she's under his umbrella. She's married to someone who has the 'gifts' to become an evangelist.
Either it was a joke - re: him or her
or BG expressed how he felt.
If it was a joke - then he doesn't feel that BC has the gifts to be an evangelist and she doesn't have what it takes to be prez. So, basically, he was judging/condemning them.
Right? And since we were told over and over - Billy doesn't judge, yet we are to believe it was a joke.
Seems like a mixed message.
Learning what I did here - about BG's CNN interview - for some reason, I think BG was either expressing what he believes or he was submitting to political powers to get along. In my book, neither is good.
I do not care what he personally thinks about anyone, it's when he has an audience and he is preaching the gospel and, then, he throws in 'his own' beliefs and/or because of submission to political powers.
NOTE: If he said Hillary should stay home and bake cookies - that would be a joke and with no misunderstanding - but that wasn't said or implied.
Thanks for the response. If anyone is taking Hillary too lighting, it is a fatal mistake. She will do absolutley anything to get back into the White House.
Okay, don't let it go. Waste your time worrying about a quip. No skin off my nose. Too bad you can think of more important things to get your hackles up.
And who is it you think isn't aware of sin?
The non-Christian.
