Doctor guilty of removing organs

A DUTCH doctor at the centre of a British hospital scandal has been found guilty of serious professional misconduct for removing organs from the bodies of 850 dead children without their parents' consent.

The General Medical Council (GMC) today ordered Professor Dick van Velzen be struck off the UK medical register after his actions at the Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool, northern England.

A 2001 government report into the scandal, which shocked Britain with its graphic nature, said the doctor had ordered the stripping of hearts, brain parts, eyes and a number of heads.

The inquiry was launched after the hospital admitted that between 1988 and 1994 staff removed and stored organs without consent.

More than 2000 pots containing body parts from about 850 infants were found at the hospital during an investigation.

Some parents had to hold three or four funerals to bury their child.

The GMC, the governing body for Britain's doctors, said van Velzen had acted in an inappropriate, improper and irresponsible manner.

"Parents whose child has just died are at their most vulnerable and therefore it is of utmost importance that they are treated sensitively and that their wishes are adhered to," the GMC said in a statement.

"A doctor who fails to live up to that expectation will seriously undermine not only his or her relationship with that particular parent or parents, but the confidence of patients in doctors."

Van Velzen, who was suspended from the medical register in 2001, had previously protested his innocence and blamed the hospital for failing to tell parents.

He was not present during the hearing and has 28 days to appeal the verdict.

Just imagine, this could be happening in USA if Hillary got her way.

Other than this guy being a few sandwiches short of a picnic, why would he do this?

It already happened in Washington State in King County. They removed brains of dead people without the families consent and sold them. Make big headlines here.

No worse than what I read about the abortion doctor in the US that ate a baby. What a ghoul (literally --- one who eats the dead).

Well, you can see his 'defence' for his actions from when the scandal initially broke here:

Something has to be done about this Frankenstein culture that is overtaking Western society. Medicine has become a sort of organ trafficking piracy.

The lack of respect for life and the human body is grotesque and obscene. "Heads should roll" for sick stuff like this. This is an area where Solomonic justice might be an interesting experiment. You steal someone else's organs, you lose yours. [irony, sarcasm]

Maybe I'm silly today, but that's hilarious.

Moral Absolutes Ping.

More revolting news. Another glaring example of what happens when moral absolutes are tossed. If the very foundation for morality is rejected, then the only thing left is each individual's moral compass, based on nothing except each person's feeelings and desires, prejudices and mental quirks.

This is only the beginning of the madness that will result from the rejection of the rules of human conduct given to mankind by Nature's God. And those rules are essentially the same in every monotheist religion in the world.

Freepmail me if you want on/off this pinglist.

I didn't click the link to find out his "reasons", if anyone does find out let me know.

(My dialup is about 29K bps today, really bad, so it take me forever to go from one website to another. Just don't have the time at the moment.)

You are quite the drama queen aren't you?

There are some of these sort of doctors around but the VAST majority of doctors are dedicated to their parents and would never do such a thing.

“Drama queen”?

Whatever overly left-brained passive-aggressive tendencies would compel one to overanalyze what any high school student of rhetoric would recognize as obvious hyperbole? Aside from the hopelessly flawed mechanistic Cartesian model of reality and substandard med school training, the American medical profession is run by corrupt profiteers in bed with the Malthusian population control monsters of the Abortion factories. A lot of Jack-ass golfers who are mostly products of mediocre secular humanist public schools. No wonder many of them are so lazy they don’t even bother to read the PDR. Let alone, Hippocrates or…Ludwig Edelstein.

The skanky bubblehead gold-digger clerks at the Emergency Room PCs are cute though as far as "drama queens" go. And that undergound Oxycontin trade the nurses run is a riot.
