On another note - fathers who cheat on their wives with other women are destroying the fabric of this society. Divorce rates are now above FIFTY PERCENT, according to some statistics. There are many other things (other than homosexuality) that is DESTROYING our families. Unfortunately most Christians (and others) don't want to confront the issues that are right in front of them. It seems that most people would rather point the finger at some "boogy" man. Sad day for many children (each and every day) and it isn't because of the "gays".

I take it you're a peter puffer then?

I believe Canada is worse than the United States. Canada is worse on gun control, implementing the homosexual agenda including same-sex marriages, anti-religion policies, socialized medicine, and I am sure much more.

Although the U.S. has some of these problems due primarily to the Democrat party being hijacked by socialists and communists, the U.S. is not as bad as Canada.

However, other trends in the U.S., such as red light traffic cameras and the lack of public opposition, is alarming.

It does indeed matter enormously how the statistics are calculated: I was divorced twice, the last time over a decade ago, back when I was agnostic. Just a couple of years ago I became a Christian, and this year re-married. Do the statistics count my two divorces against the Christian divorce rate?

Very good point! I hadn't even thought of the importance of the variation over time that you mentioned.

Also, how would one count the divorce of Michael Huffington and Arianna Huffington, where the RHINO and anti-gun former U.S. Senator Michael Huffington came out of the closet and divorced his wife Arianna Huffington, who then apparently transformed into a flaming communist Democrat.

Did Michael Huffington become homosexual as a result of being Married to Arianna Huffington, resulting in their divorce?

Or was Michael Huffington always homosexual with a marriage of convenience for political purposes, with or without Arianna Huffington's knowledge?

That is, what was the real cause and effect relationship?

Did the marriage cause the homosexuality which in turn caused the divorce, or did the homosexuality cause the divorce?

It pays to hate God.

I didn't think atheists believed in God.

I know a Pentacostal pastor who disagrees with that. His view of athiests is that on the outside they present this "intellectual" image of "I simply can not believe there is a G*d. There is no G*d." While inside they are shaking a fist toward heaven, shouting "No, G*d!"

Atheists have a religious faith that God does not exist, just as believers have a religious faith that God exists.

Neither can prove their position nor disprove the position of the other.

It seems that atheists criticize believers for having a faith analogous to their own faith.

Therefore, it seems that atheists are hypocrites and should instead be agnostic, stating that they do not know and cannot prove whether God exists.

Wow.

That defense'll work.

Just like it did for the original, Herr Shicklegruber, National Socialist Workers' Party losers, lunatics, lackies and lickspittles.

Not.

<< Divorce rates are now according to "SOME STATISTICS," above fifty per cent. >>

And there are lies, bloody lies -- and then there are some Kinsey-esque "statistics."

Most marriages do not end in divorce, as most of those who divorce, do so more than once.

And then there are the small armies of the likes of the one-man combined abortoir industry and virtual Holocaust, the psychopath, Henry Morgentaler, who has likely been single-handedly responsible for the murder of around five and a half million unborn babies in a career of obsessive slaughter.

Talk about payback, the bastard, visited on those who saved him from the Nazis.

Canada is well on its way to Hell.

The Canadian military is sort of an oxymoron. The socialist Canadian governments have emasculated the military to the point that they are nothing more than a force de frappe. The fact that same sex marriage is now condoned within the ranks is a fitting climax to its very existence.

The Canadian military numbers a total of 60,000 uniformed personnel. They have been reducing their forces for years. It is nice to live off the security welfare of the US.

The Canadian government has also funded the "significant others" (regardless of sex) of Canadian diplomats abroad.

The U.S. taxpayers pay extra tax money for the U.S. national defense budget which is subsidizing Canada and the socialist countries in western Europe who have inadequate defense forces and rely on the U.S. defense budget and forces to save them.

These socialist countries extract higher taxes from their citizens and businesses and squander it on their welfare states and on socialized medicine, while failing to meet their social responsibility to provide for their own national defense.

Perhaps the U.S. should not have forgiven the war debts owed by ungrateful two-faced "allies". Perhaps the U.S. should charge a suitable price if they need our services to save them again in the future.

Also, the U.S. saved western Europe from the Nazis and the Soviet communists, but can we and should we save them from themselves?

I agree with most of what you said. Canada and Western Europe have been living under the security umbrella provided by the US since the end of WWII. It has enabled them to pursue their welfare states, which provide generous benefits to its citizens. They have chosen butter over guns and have not paid any consequences for that decision thanks to the US.

An aging, declining population in Western Europe now threatens their overly-generous social welfare systems. Russia and Germany are cutting benefits to the elderly. In addition, the costs of the welfare state have hurt their economies making Europe less competitive in the global market. Western Europe continues to degrade its military forces because it can not afford them. Without any real military threat, Europe does not need them. However, for that reason Europe is becoming less and less able to project power outside the region making Europe less relevant.

The US has not forgiven all the WWII debts as far as I know. Poland and Finland have paid off their debts. The UK will pay off the rest of its debt in 2006.

There is little the US can do to "save" Western Europe from itself. They will need the political will to do that for themselves.
