Two news topics show why Democratic positions often strike Republicans as half-baked. First, the Title IX crusade to increase the number of female college athletes. (The Supreme Court turned down a Title IX challenge this week.) Second, Harvard President Lawrence Summers' revised view of women in science, and his ongoing penance for previous errors. (Harvard announced last month that it would be spending big bucks in the hopes of achieving gender equity among professors.)
And then a liberal history professor spoke out on a third issue and clarified the other two. He made it clear (accidentally) that affirmative action policies represent arrogant, busy-bodying attempts to substitute statistics for common sense.

Excellent description of various leaders of the Democrats. Pelosi, Dean, Kerry, Boxer. All lack common sense.
If anything, the stats and ratios are used to promote and/or cover for bigotry. A rose is still a rose by any other name.
Great little article that demonstrates clearly how enforced equality cannot help but conflict with freedom.
Very funny point that colleges must maintain sexual equality in sports numbers, but have no requirement to maintain equality in numbers of conservatives vs leftists in faculty.
When they have a theory and it conflicts with the real world, then its the real world that must change or adapt, not the theory.
