Well I wouldn't compare a garden variety liberal like Henry to the quasi Marxist that Jane was...at least in the 60s and 70s. H. Fonda was best of friends with Jimmy Stewart btw.

'H. Fonda was best of friends with Jimmy Stewart btw.'
Lifelong friends...in fact, they were roomates in college before hitting Tinseltown. And you're right, compared to his daughter Hank was rather tame.

If you can get me a name or even a year, I'd appreciate it. The left likes to rewrite history and pretend that they didn't support a group that murdered a third of Cambodia's population. A finger? They deserve a stake through their cold dead hearts.

"...One story I heard this book tell about was about Lucille Ball as being one of the top ringleaders of her time.
She sure looks like a "red" to me. And notice the featured story. Coincidence? I think not!..."
Not to mention the color of the magazine's border.

While the Marx Brothers were standard old-school immigrant liberals (they supported Al Smith in 1928), I don't think they were Communists. None of them were ever "blacklisted" during the alleged anti-Communist "reign of terror." Though Groucho was used as an icon by the hippies and the New Left I don't think he was every anything other than a lifelong liberal Democrat (though there's a website somewhere that features an alleged FBI report on "Graucho" making a speech in which he called for a "Soviet America").
Harpo Marx was sent to Russia by FDR at the time he was preparing to recognize that government (11/1933). In his "auto"biography (yeah, so it was ghost written; but all Hollywood biographies are!) he explicitly mentions having to view an anti-religious propaganda play. While he said he had never been a religious person, the tastelessness of that play still made him sick. He also pointed out that Communist Russia was not a free country.
The political orientation of the Marx Brothers saddens me, but I still love their stuff!
Hey, at least Zeppo invented military equipment!

If I was on the scene at the time, I probably would have attempted. Or at least you would have heard me bellow "you traitor mf". That was in my younger days, yes I was a Democrat then, but more of the Henry Jackson variety - pro military. Old Scoop would not recognize the Democratic Party these days, except for maybe Sam Nunn, Zell Miller, I don't know who else.
