I guess if I was the Red Cross, I would close down in Canada.

The author did a very skillful job of not disclosing the source state of the tainted blood and who it's governor was.

Yes. I am waiting for an apology from Bubba for the Arkansas Department of Correctiosn behaviour in exporting prisoners' blood after the FDA had banned its use in the US.

This was on Bubba's watch.

Bubba is good at apologies.

Provided that it is someone else's behaviour for which he is apologising.

Perhaps he can toss off an apology at Pearson International or even Goose Bay on his way through to somewhere else, just as he did at Kigali Airport respecting the Rwanda genocide.

A girl I went to school with died this past winter. She had a rare blood disorder and in 1981 underwent a transfusion in New York State. The blood was tainted and she was diagnosed as HIV positive. Her life was a living hell, but she lived 24 years after she received the tainted blood and devoted her life to speaking about HIV/AIDS.

John Plater, who contracted HIV and hemophilia from the bad blood, called the conviction a historic occasion.

You can contract hemophilia? I could have sworn it was an inherited genetic disease.

So the 1.5 mil for the scholarships and research will no doubt have the red cross banner all over it so its just relabeling an existing planned outlay.

In the end they will pay a $5,000 fine and be done with it.

Boy thats what I call accepting responsibility.

And this country has such good regulatory control on its pharmaceuticals distribution channels that most of you Americans want to import your drugs from them!

If they did this, what many other things will they have done?. I am surprised that the victims won. The Red Cross denied the charges!. I guess they have a lot of money for the best lawyers and they still lost. That's why I am surprised and that's what make me think they have many other cases of corruption. All over the world...this respectful entity....so charitable....

I would guess it was HIV and hemochromatosis. ABCNNBCBS and the bircage papers have lowered my expectations of accurate reporting.
