Last week riots broke out in Afghanistan and Pakistan over an unfounded rumor, irresponsibly published by Newsweek magazine, that an American interrogator had flushed a Koran down the toilet. In response, the administration has been anxiously assuring the Muslim world that we indeed respect their religion and begging them to please like us.

Anyone familiar with the history of Islam and its 14-centuries-long violent jihad against the West and the Jews will not be surprised or shocked by these events. They express perfectly the arrogant intolerance of a religion convinced it has been chosen by God to rule the world, and so is justified in using every means, whether violence or propaganda, to fulfill that divine mandate. As the final and complete revelation of the divine, Islam feels no need to respect or tolerate other religions or secular notions like "human rights," for they are all the detritus of infidel history to be swept away in the final triumph of the one true religion.

VDH is an awesome writer. His geopolitical analysis is precisely what our intelligence agencies and our state dept. could do with (as compared to a lot of partisan anal-ysts hanging around Langley and Foggy Bottom as of now).
Bruce thornton seems to have picked up quite a bit of VDH's style, precision, clarity and sharpness.

Except that how much credibility have we? Were not we the ones screaming about yellowcake and WMD's? Are we not the ones who sexually abused our prisoners? We should anyone not believe that we would flush a Koran down a toilet?

I think Islam is a filthy ideology born of the mind of a sadistic schizophrenic. And its practitioners are mainly cowed women and sexually insecure men.
How can any religion claim to be annointed by God when the one thing they do NOT value above all else is TRUTH? If God is Truth, which He must be by defintion, then any religion that claims all methods are legitimate in securing/converting this earth for Him, cannot, by definition, be legitimate. Only a religion that preaches search for Truth (of one's own volition, by the way) can be legitimate.

I agree with your premise........we really should start cutting their fricking heads off instead of putting panties on their heads and "abusing them". This would assure that the goat humpers would respect us.

I should hope so. The ratio needs to be much higher though. At least 10,000 raving jihadis for each American. So real tolerance and diversity can survive.
