Several years ago the Al Queida was reported by the US embassy in Bogota to have a terrorist training base along the Brazilian border.
At that time there were over 300 foreigners being trained.
It is probably bigger today.
They were dealing with the Colombian Drug Cartels and in country terrorists groups like the FARC and the communist ELF as well as Brazilian drug runners.
It is imperative that our Southern borders have more security.
Brazil and several other countries in South America have recently elected anti-American presidents and dictators.
Many in South America that I have talked personally with see America as being weak.
A nation of liberals with out the guts to sustain any kind of fight over a long period.
These people are not dummies when it comes to putting pressure on the United States.
You don't win friends and influence people by being weak.
Most third world countries only have respect for those countries they have some fear of.
China for instance has put the fear of Mao in Panama courtesy of that traitor Jimmy Goober Carter.
