Good. There should have never been negotiations. The Democrats should never be allowed to dictate to the majority.

SHOWDOWN IMMINENT. Yeah. Imminent. Right. 2 years of this stuff. Frist is like Lott, he hasn't the testicular fortitude to lead. He'll fold.

I hate when the word imminent is mis-used.

It's about time. I hope the Republicans don't find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
To: katieanna
Just press the button already.

I'll believe it when I see it. I am getting tired of the "this time we mean it" posing by Frist.

What's the definition of "imminent"? Some time before the turn of the century.

"About to occur" or "impending". Looks fine to me in this context.

The idea of negotiations really stinks but in the end, it might just turn the couple of Repubs who KNOW that a mere majority up and down vote is correct, what we have always done and should be the rule for seating judges.
I have continuously said that the Dems started this as a delay tactic during Bush's first term...with high hopes that he would lose. I think their plan has gone awry.

How is it mis-used? It means at any moment.
By that headline I would expect a vote in minutes.
