"Are the GM execs still paying themselves 5+ times more than their Japanese and European conterparts?"

You can bet on that, for you see GM's execs have lotsa great ideas and decisions, worthy of huge rewards, like:

--Killing the Camaro and Firebird, with NO replacement. Meantime Ford introduces the new Mustang and it sells BIG.

--Giving us the Aztec.

--Going overseas for their new GTO, which is clear evidence their Detroit designers are impotent.

--Continuing to think their buyers will fall for Badging, ad infinitum. Giving Suburus and Chevy Trailblazers Saab badges.

--Hiring the designer of the Chrysler PT Cruiser, to give GM a virtual copy of same....several years later.

--No new GM station wagon/crossover while every other company has many. (Okay I overlook the Cadilac which is pretty good, but priced above most GM's buyers.)

Meanwhile, Mercedes/Chrysler has many wagons and crossovers; Ford/Volvo/Land Rover has many; BMW has many; Audi has many; Jaguar has a new wagon; Toyota/Lexus has many; Nissan/Infiniti has a few.

And all these companies have many upcoming as the big SUVs become too costly to fill up.
