Bush Would Still Beat Kerry/Gore 05/05 05:55 PM The National Journals Hotline has published the numbers of its new poll conducted with Westhill of 800 registered voters. In the poll, President Bush has a 48 percent approval rating, with 44 percent disapproving.
The GOP receives a 68 percent approval rating for its handling of Social Security, with 21 percent disapproving. Most striking, Democrats receive 5 percent approval for their handling, with a full 93 percent disapproving. However, the Democrats sill edge Bush/GOP on who they trust more to handle the issue, 38 to 35 percent.
In a possible 2004 White House rematch, President Bush still bests John Kerry 45 to 43 percent. Bush would also beat Al gore 47 to 42 percent

Someone want to explain to me how the hell that works?

This is funny because I just read today's edition of DUFU and the DUmmies think the Republican party is crumbling.

Beats me. Maybe there are a lot of democrats who think the democrats know how to fix it but are keeping it secret. LOL!

They must have a plan.

Generically, the Democrats are identified as the Party Of Social Security. So that's why people trust them more on the issue. But when you get down to the brass tacks, the Democrats have no plan to fix Soche Security. And that will be their undoing.

John Kerry has a whole warehouse full of them. He's saving them up for when Bush is impeached and he assumes rightful control of the White House.
I'm surprised you didn't know this. Everyone at DU does.

How can the Dems expect to get any public approval for their actions to improve Social Security when no action has been taken?
This poll proves that 5% of the public is stoned at any given time and they all vote Democratic while under the influence.

The Dems get only a 5% approval for their handling....but the American people still trust them MORE to handle the situation??
Doesn't make sense.

"The Dems get only a 5% approval for their handling....but the American people still trust them MORE to handle the situation?? "
The polls always show that the people believe Dems can handle it better. I wonder how they phrase that question?

That's because Americans unlike some countries know how to pick real leaders. They don't pick bedwetting people who do nothing but want to promise goodies with the taxpayers' own money in order to buy their vote.

I saw that, or something like it, somewhere. You have to wonder how he thought that saying 'plan' constantly and never once revealing it would get him in the White House.
More Democrat dementia

Wow! A perfect illustration for my point, which apparently has occurred to a lot of people! Thanks!
To: goldstategop
Even Bill Clinton told the dems: "get a plan".

This poll is bogus. 5% is too high.
