Aggressive Squirrels Target Portland Hikers (my title)

Just heard on local news...aggressive gray squirrels have been bothering Portland, Oregon hikers in backwoods areas. They have hissed, attacked and even bitten hikers. Not sure why they are suddenly aggressive. Maybe they are conservative, nut-storing squirrels.

Years ago, when I was a log-cutter, the little bastards would throw pine/fir/spruce cones at me -- the hard, little solid ones that hadn't splayed open yet. They would just rain them down on me. It was kinda cute, but it made me glad I was wearing a hardhat. I felt kinda guilty, cutting down their homes; but I got over it :)
