Yes, you are correct. You may leave at any time.

Of course, that was completely uncalled for. At any rate, peace to you and yours.

Start with California democRATS, please. Our paper today says that Jim Costa was #9 on the list of house members who went traveling on private funds. He is my congresscritter, I'm sorry to say, although he did vote YES on the abortion question this past week (to make it illegal for a 3rd party to transport a minor girl across state lines to have an abortion).

What was uncalled for was YOUR determination that anyone's comments (but yours?) are 'repackaged garbage' and can 'take a hike'!

I am a conservative who, apparently like many who enjoy this site, would like to see the Republicans (some for whom I voted) LEAD the discussions and OWN the action for a change. Lately it seems as if they are almost apologetic for being in the majority ... and it's a GOOD THING to see some of them (now) starting to take the reins.

Peace to you and yours, and may God bless.

There is no need to wait and see. I am not addressing the judicial filibuster in this post where future action as yet remains undetermined. The facts are that the Democrats have blocked reversal of the ethics ruling. Delay was in favor of an investigation to prove himself innocent. McDermott, Pelosi and others were not as pleased with investigations moving forth against them. This is the reality of the situation as it stands today.

The House Republicans did not cave on this issue as the MSM is trying to spin it.

That's OK. I've had it with those that kiss up to the fools in congress just because they are GOP

And this means ...what? Have you even READ my posts the last two weeks? I take it you either have not shown that courtesy, or have chosen to be disingenuous.

For the benefit of increasing your knowledge, I have been leading a charge against Republicans for demonstrating a complete lack of leadership especially in the U.S. Senate. The Bolton and Judicial filibusters especially have had me incensed. I didn't help elect them to a Majority to act as a Minority. The charge I would kiss up to the GOP because they are GOP is, honestly, absurd.

On THIS issue you are wrong to attack Republicans. When Republicans are unjustly accused I Will stand up for them as no one else will. Democrats have been blocking altering these ethics rules for months. They wanted to hang Delay on innuendo and save the skins of their own members that are guilty. Delay has been calling for this rule to be reversed for awhile to show his innocence AND so that members like McDermott can have their investigations proceed forward.

If you want to attack the Republicans for not standing up to defend Delay immediately, have at it. If you want to question why they allowed RINO's and Libs to set the scehdule on issues like judges for months (years), you'll have room to comment against them. On THIS issue Republicans have no room for critisism.

I question just how much nuance and diplomacy is needed with the kind of majority the Repubs hold in Congress. They don't need to pussyfoot around these liberal efforts to delay (NPI), distract, and thwart implementing their mandate.

rdb3 knows what he's talking about, having been in the trenches here for many years. The Republican victories over the last few years have been intoxicating, but we need to remember that the Left still owns the media and the educational system.

"Pussyfooting" is carefully stepping so that the Leftist media doesn't turn this into another "The Republicans shut down the government!" debacle as was done in 1995-96.

I think even the Stupid Party might be learning how to negotiate the mine field...

Ventura County (CA) Star

A better name would Red Star

That's the local nickname for it among folks like me. It's pathetic -- the sorriest excuse for a newspaper I've seen except for the L.A. Times, which is our other option. There are very few locally-owned papers these days.

The Red Star publishes editions in most of the cities between L.A. and Santa Barbara. It has a very hard Left agenda: anti-Republican, pro union, sickeningly pro-environmentalist, etc. Stories are written backwards with all the liberal propaganda in the headline and lead paragraphs to generate maximum impact among those who browse instead of read. Any opposing views are saved for the last 3-4 paragraphs buried on a jump page. Even the lone house "conservative" columnist left the reservation today, extolling the AARP's view of Bush's Social Security plan. It's appalling.

The paper continues this line in the face of declining circulation numbers and ad revenue. Unfortunately people will continue buying newspapers for certain kinds of ads like real estate, jobs and automotive, etc.; information about local activities and events, even TV schedules. So the editor-propagandists continue to blatantly distort, censor and propagandize. The worst part is that the propaganda works on a very large number of people.

I'll believe it when I see Hitlery being exposed big time. Until then, it's just talk.

I know what you are saying... but.ah.. Hillary is just so darned useful! She has become the posterchild of what the majority of Americans reject: The weak wife of the philandering husband who waged unsuccessful wars, raised taxes, sold vital US Interests to various countries. Enron scandals, etc., happened on his watch; and she conducted secret meetings in an unofficial position in order to scam 1/7th of the US economy. And they are both "lawyers". Hers, IMHO, is the face of what has brought America these past 30 years into a corrosive anti-family environment and culture in addition to encouraging crime and criminals while banning useful, reasonable means for and of self-defense.

Democrats had refused to allow the House ethics committee to meet this year until Republicans agreed to abandon those rules and go back to the previous procedures. Democrats also have repeatedly highlighted what they termed "an ethical cloud" hanging over Mr. DeLay, infuriating Republicans.

Now Republicans are saying that Democrats' own alleged ethical travel-related lapses could become political fodder, echoing recent remarks by House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R., Ill.) that there are "four or five cases out there dealing with top-level Democrats," whom he didn't name.

"I certainly do see that the Republicans are not going to sit back and have the Democrats use the ethics process for political purposes without a push back," said Rep. Jack Kingston (R., Ga.), the vice chairman of the House Republican Conference. "[The Democrats] will be educated that this is the kind of ethics war, or ethics atmosphere, that they have created."

Here's an in your face pic for the Liberal
lyin' jerks trying to smear Delay!
