The war on religion
The Washington Times ^ | 4-27-05 | Paul Greenberg

Mark Pryor, the junior senator from Arkansas, may not make the news very often, but when he does say something newsworthy, it's a doozy. The other day, he strongly objected to those religious fanatics (fa-nat-ics -- anyone who disagrees with you strongly) who have campaigned against the never-ending filibuster that denies the president's judicial nominees a straight up-or-down vote in the U.S. Senate. Mark Pryor wasn't so much challenging these folks' political views but their daring to express them. It's unbecoming, you see, for church people to participate in the low rough-and-tumble of politics. Their tactics, he says, could "make the followers of Jesus Christ just another special interest group."

How did this guy win in Arkansas? He sounds like Clinton. The GOP candidate must've really sucked!

Good definition, worthy of Ambrose Bierce.

This guy (mark Pryor)is an idiot whose father held the post until 1996-a true worthless senator who voted with the democratic leadership and against his constituents on everything from gun control to taxes. When his son ran, he even used the same signs dear old dad used, thereby ensuring that the elderly and minorities voted for him! I knew Mark Pryor would sell us out to the DNC leadership as soon as he was elected and these comments show that I was right.

The GOP candidate was Tim Hutchinson (Asa's brother). He lost because a lot of conservative (idiots) voted against him because he got divorced while he was in office.

..."make the followers of Jesus Christ just another special interest group."

You have to love it when Democrats put down Christians and then ask for their votes.

The more anti-Christian talk we get from the Democrats the more we can use it to throw back at them at election time.

There's another thread on FR today about Democratic Senator Ken Salazar (Colorado) calling Focus On the Family & Dobson the "Anti Christ". Are all the democrats becoming infected with Christophobia??

He lost because a lot of conservatives figured that if they had to have a Senator without good character, they might as well have a Democrat.
