After Action report:Just returned from Minuteman Project
4/25/2005 | chicagolady

It is with great emotion and a new fervor I am writing this after action report. I am stirred with emotion because of the tireless work of some great Americans I met these past couple of days.

I spent my time in the com center with a bunch of great hamm's literally. I am going to look into getting my ham license so I can be more useful next time.

It was great to see people still dedicated to the project even after all the fanfare traveled to Washington D.C. this week. I got a chance to talk to Jim Gilcrist and was thrilled to find that all the publicity has not gone to his head. He seems like a humble servant thankful to all who have put in some time at the project. He is very approachable which I am thankful for. That is the kind of leader I will be happy to get involved with again.

I wish I was better with names, I would thank all of them for their work and friendship while I was there. A special thanks to Calan, Stephen, Lee, Michael, Gail, Dottie, Tom, Chrome Dome and of course Jim Gilchrist who's humor and helpfulness made my short time at the project one I will never forget!!

Since I cannot be in the sun I was only able to go out for a short time and see all the folks doing a great job of observing on the Naco Border.

They told some great stories of the locals coming by with food for them like..home made Lasanga, cookies donuts and what have you. Their own way of saying thank you.I did experience that myself first hand ...when I was working the Main gate early Sunday morning a local came by with donuts and said thanks. I met the Sheriff as I worked the main gate later that day, even he said thanks for coming all the way from Chicago to work out here. WOW that is quite a difference from how this whole thing started out!

The most grievious thing I ponder now is the Total disconnect the Media has presented. How could something so good with such great Americans be so perverted. It is really something to grieve, they are trying to kill the truth ...I hope and pray Americans wake up.

Looking forward to doing more stuff with the Minutemen Project. God Bless all you Minutemen!!

=====
Real Americans know and understand the harsh leftist political agenda of the MSM. To supress the truth is an essential ingredient to the radical left's survival. To dupe their Kool-Aid drinkers is key. Denying the importance of the Minutemen is clearly UNAMERICAN, but to deny reality and truth is most certainly LIBERAL.

The wrod is getting out. The MSM will fail in their efforts to not cover this, or to spin it negatively.

God bless all of you who were there and set the example for the entire naton IMHO.

Reminds me of the feelings I had after being involvd at Klamath Falls in 2001.

The same principles apply.

I hope the Minuteman effort spreads all across the southern border...in all border states. If the current administration were smart, they would embrace it and create a voluntere force to work with the Border Patrol similar to the Civil Air Patrol...call it the Civil Border Patrol.

Such an effort would be embracd by most Americans and would not only be the wise thing to do for our national security along the border...but it would be smart politically too IMHO.

GREAT WORK!

Great job! Everybody who was involved with the Minutemen including those who went and those who provided funding did an enormous service for their country. It seems that most of our leaders are determined not to recognize this service but you have my heartfelt thanks and I bet there are a lot of other American thinking the same thing.

A very funny moment was when a guy named Stephen who worked in the comm center went over the radio and started talking like George Bush. He apoligized to all the Minutemen because he called them vigilantes. It was pretty funny....((maybe you had to be there!!))

I think you will be quite pleased how the Minutemen have changed our world. Before the MM almost nothing on the news about illegals. Now it seems every time I turn around there's another article (favorable) and another state trying to stop illegals from getting driver's licenses and another bill in Washington. All thanks to the MM and what they've done to bring this problem out into the open! Thanks to you and all the rest for the great job!! It has made a world of difference!
