This is tragic that this article only gives the story from Villianous Company.

Basically, a three-pronged attack from Syria was launched against a Marine Base just inside the Iraq border with Syria.

Could Syria be aiding the terrorists who attacked India Company.

Why is there no outcry against Syria?

Basically, the terrorists had literally hundreds of pounds of explosives to put in a white dump truck, a fire-engine, and finally a third vehicle.

The Terrorists took over 35+ casualties from the attack, so the force attacking could have been close to 50 terrorists -- as there was at least four terroists in three vehicles.

The blog article is the best collection of facts, but this info needs to make it to the media.

More importantly, the question needs to be raised as to the aid the Syrian Government is giving such terrorists -- as the attack came from Syria of at least 40 or more terrorists.

As for who did tha attack. It is so close to the Syrian border it could be assumed that a some where able to embed, but do realize, we have a number of Marine Battalions stationed in the north/western desert from Al Qa'im westward to the airfield at H3 some fifty miles south of Syria, forty miles east of the Jordanian boarder. The Marines units such as the 2nd LAR (light armored recon Bn) patrol 24/7 with the aid of aircover. All the towns in the northwestern desert can expect visits from them on a weekly or so basis. Our Intel continues to improve. So it is almost natural that this type attacked took place. The foreign terrorist/insurgents are getting rather desperate at this point in my opinion. We continue to kill em, and capture em, and find their weapon caches.

Syria knows it is in our cross hair, there is no way that they want to invite the rath of the US against its fragile government. I want to think, it could be lies, propaganda, or worst yet entrapment. If it was the last, it would be publicized big time in our media to rally support for revenge. Bullet magnet duty. Thats what we are doing. While the Iraqis eat ice cream and go swimming or camel riding or whatever our best troops are being shot up. Where is the Deterrence. After this attack there should have been one less town in Syria.

Where is the Deterrence for the Helicopter being shot down. The Iraqi government should be putting in front of a firing squad 200 a day. Make a video of THAT! Instead, we have captured 10 involved in the shoot down and they are all being treated well, fed well, heck they should be tortured well and their families should have their homes destroyed.

There is no deterrence. Why for Gods sake isn't there Martial Law in Iraq now? Because there is no need for the Iraqis to fight when we are doing the fighting for them. Just hurry up this election process over there and start the draw down then let them fight it out.

Instead, Syria will gather up another bunch of convicts and nuts and send them against the Marines next month. Next month we might not be as lucky.

If our Forces stay in Iraq, the Iraqi government will keep them on the defensive. We must regain the initiative and go on the offense, into Syria and Iran. We must regain total independence of our Military Forces. Do this by making the Iraqis start paying 5 billion a month for our forces. Then they will want to get proactive also, so they can get US out of there and save 5 billion a month.

Additionally, take out the Sunni cities one at a time, starting with Tikrit. Do it like Fallujah.

Escalate first or get hit first.

As long as we continue to gift them with 100 billion a year and thousands of dead and wounded young Americans, the Iraqis will have no motivation to do anything. And Hillery will do all she can in 08, screaming "5 years in long enough, get out of Iraq"
