Three Guys Who Could Easily Get The Turncoat's Seat Back
Dubie (r) is VT. Lt. Governor, former AF pilot and former Airline pilot
Parke is a former AF pilot and now flies charters
Tarrant is the founder of IDX Corp, a former St. Michaels basketball giant and a guy with brains and bucks.
If Gov. Jim Douglas, who would not criticize Jefford's deceit, runs for the Senate he is going to have to take a lot of heat from folks who still harbor a lot of anger over Jeffords.
Howard Dean :-(
Who the heck is Parke? The other two I've at least heard of
Hope all's well with you and yours. I'm back in VT right now to close on my house
Actually...Howie the Mouth immediately said he was going to stick with his current job of destroying what remains of the Democratic Party.
I assume all that were mentioned for Jeffords seat are all Republicans? (NOT the Jeffords kind, either)
In other words, the perfect Senator for today's Republican Party.
How about we try some real small-government people for a change - somebody with no memory of JFK, much less FDR. Somebody willing to kick some government-parasite ass.
Or was that limited to the '94 version of Republican promises?
IF he meant what he said, that's doubly good!
Check him out here. Dynamite candidate! GP
Good luck on your house
Judging be the discretion and acumen shown by VT in selecting Jeffords, I would have nominated
These Three Guys
Impressive resume, but what makes you think he's qualified for or can win a Senate seat?
Two Republicans who were man enough to serve their country in uniform...that is shocking!
REALLY?
Don't know where you are from or how long you have lived in Vermont, but all three of your choices, are "conservative," and if you think for one minute, ANY Conservative is going to be elected to National Office, I fear you are are way too optimistic.
Are you aware that Vermont is the ONLY state in which Bush did worse in 04 than he did in 2000?
Oh yes, we have a Repub Governor, but he's just another RINO!
As an aside, don't be surprised if Jumpin Jim runs for Gov. next time around.
Don't know how old you are, but I'm a Vietnam Vet and grew up in and around Burlington during the 50's.
Then, Vermont was fairly conservative and Republican.
Then, along came Bernie and his band of "progressives" (read: socialist) and it was all down hill from there.
As for me, I've had it. As circumstances are such that I no longer "have" to stay here, I am leaving. Read my tag line and I really feel for you and the other 9 conservatives who live in Vermont; only 8 after I leave. LOL
Well, he has no political experience in his background in Vermont from what I see, so I don't know if he has any name recognition in the state. I've been away for a year and a half, but never heard of him.
Should Bernie Sanders run for the seat, he's a shoo-in unless the dems also run a strong candidate and split the lib/socialist vote.
From 28 years of observing VT politics, the people up here like to elect someone they know, and once they elect him, they don't like to change horses. Look at Leahy, Jeffords, Sanders, Dean, former Gov. Snelling. They all had/have almost lifetime positions.
why do you let all of the escaped communists from my state of NY run your state...?????
(sorry it was a rhetorical question...)
I had enough. I moved to Florida in October of 2003. I'm just back in Vermont to complete the sale of my old house and then I'm gone for good!
Leonard Jeffords.
Looks like an old Ted Danson to me.
