How come feminism always goes back in the closet whenever the lawn needs mowing, or when the car needs a new alterator belt or when the trash needs to be taken out?

I don't see these women getting too riled up about being excluded from the draft either. I can think of a lot more things that women can do to make themselves more equal - if that's what they really want.

LOL! When was the last time you heard a guy complain that his wife doesn't help mow the lawn, cut down trees, chop wood, clean the gutters, unclog the toilet, etc.? Not that I'm speaking from personal experience or anything...

Hey, I am the official Family Lawnmower! I also take out the trash because I'm fussy about the state of our garbage pen.

I don't do the timing belt on the current eeeevil SUV because it's one of those nasty continuous jobbies (plus it hasn't needed changing yet), but I have changed the alternator belt on a '69 Torino, a '74 BMW 2002, and a '62 Studebaker Lark Daytona (289). Not to mention a brake job (my one and only, but it worked!) on the Torino and putting in the odd starter or carburetor.

I also do the laundry, all the cooking except that done outside over charcoal, (a male sex-linked characteristic), and I wash the cars. I clean the #$!@#)(^%()* cat box because I promised I would when we got married, and I can't talk the kids into THAT job.

My DH does all electrical repairs, sheet metal work and carpentry (I am chief assistant) as well as objects too heavy for me to lift (he's 6'6" and 250#). Which also means that I have to clean the gutters and blow the leaves off the roof valleys, 'cause I don't want him on a ladder or clumping his Size 13s across the shingles!
