Last night, while watching Hannity & Colmes, I resisted the temptation of throwing something at the television set. Ive heard, consistently, from many conservatives who know him, that Alan is really a nice guy. Maybe so. But, his comments continue to be consistently absurd, mindless, immature, idiotic, perplexing and too many other adjectives defining ludicrous to list here. One of his Wednesday comments, however, took the proverbial cake.
Engaged in a conversation with Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North, regarding Jane Fonda and her new book, the inevitable subject of Fondas Viet Nam war atrocities came up in the discussion. Please bear in mind that North not only had first-hand experience in Viet Nam but, knows this war backward, forward, inside and out. North brought up Fondas many treasonous actions, during the war and her comments and actions against the US were myriad. One of these that North brought up still has the ability to elicit the strongest of emotions from our Viet Nam veterans. On one of her trips to Viet Nam, where she sided with the enemy Viet Cong against the US and our troops, US prisoners believed they might have some hope if they could just get messages to Fonda.
Having no idea that Fonda had become a communist-plant, our fathers, sons and husbands managed (at great cost personal to them and the risk of sacrificing their lives if they were caught) to get handwritten messages to Fonda. In their messages, our soldiers begged her to get their information back to the states. They were valiantly trying to get the true story of their imprisonment and torture back to the American people. However, instead of taking the messages home with her, Fonda turned them over to our prisoners Viet Cong captors. This resulted in even more severe torture and even death for our troops. Hanoi Jane had accomplished her job well.
Now comes the kicker. In response to Norths comments, Colmes (in his inimitable condescending fashion) had the impudence to say: If we can forgive George Bush for his youthful indiscretions, maybe we can forgive Jane Fonda. What??? Colmes is comparing Fondas treason and her directly causing the torture and death of American citizens to President Bushs former youthful indiscretions with alcohol? Good grief! Does Alan even bother to take his mind with him, when he leaves his home each day? This reflects yet more liberal insanity and a gross lack of mental acumen. At its very best, this comment reflects a badly failing intellect. It is, also, one of the best examples of the way liberals think and, most likely, the reason why they fight against the death penalty for mass murderers yet saw no problem with Terri Schiavos forced euthanasia and support the abortion of babies. Most liberals are lunatics who do not appear to possess the ability for rational thought. Colmes comment is but another glaring example of their malady. This is, also, another illustration of why they must no longer be elected
to anything. Irrationality and stupidity are not prime qualifications for public office.
Sher Zieve is a Conservative political commentator who firmly believes that if Leftists ran the country (left to their own devices), it would be the end of the United States as a sovereign nation. Email her at: sher_zieve@yahoo.com
"...she's going to have an interview with Alan Colmes next Tuesday on Hannity & Colmes - FNC."
Which brings us back to the topic. As much as I would like to hear what Sher has to say on this subject, I don't know I can stomach AC. The night this article is referring to I turned off Hannity & Colmes, wrote e-mails to them, viewer services & comments@foxnews telling them I would never watch this program again. I told them Colmes was dispicable & they were following the alphabet networks with distorted, fake, mutilated versions of what they call news.
I will buy Jane's book if she throws up in front of me.
What a great idea. See you there. And I'm bringing my dog.
I have come to the conclusion that the cadaverous Colmes is mentally ill.
BTTT!!!!!!
I also find it interesting that Colonel North (who has a long history with Viet Nam Vets and knows this war intimately) was the one who brought this up on H & C.
It's not dull for the Hannity-ites. They have made him popular enough to have a radio show too. The show is all about Hannity; Combs is just a pimp, selling hinself.
What else is new in the world of entertainment? Lol.
I just received another email from Sher Zieve, the author of the piece on Alan Colmes, liberals and Jane Fonda. Sher says that she got her information about the note passing from POWs to Fonda from Ollie North.
Sher is going to be on H&C (Fox cable) day after tomorrow......Tuesday, April 12 - 9 PM (EDT)-6 PM (PDT).
Then the author of this piece failed to check the facts.
Sher Zieve is not appearing on Hannity & Colmes T.V. show on Fox. That was a misunderstanding on my part. She will be a guest on Alan Colmes radio show at 11:00 PM (EDT) on Tuesday April 12th. For local stations, check here:
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,130069,00.html
As for the facts in Sher's article, all that I can tell you is that she says that Ollie North verified the "note passing" incident. It could be that Ollie got this one wrong. No one is perfect, but Sher might comment more extensively on the issue during her interview with Alan Colmes this coming Tuesday evening.
Char :)
Not necessarily. If you read the article, closely, she's commenting on Colmes remarks to Ollie's statements. Sher's big problem with Colmes seems to be that he thinks Pres. Bush's youthful problems with alcohol are the same as Fonda's treason. Hope you don't see it that way, withteeth.
According to Snopes...
Snopes is anti God, and anti America from their roots. They have no credibility. The story about the notes has been corroborated by the victims, and other observers; how can snopes 'debunk' a true story?
You believe snopes, you'll believe anything.
LOL !!!!!!!!!
I got another email from Sher Zieve, author of the Colmes-Fonda piece. She says that she did a complete search on snopes.com before writing this article, and there is nothing on snopes about this issue at all. The only Fonda story on snopes (which is said to be a bogus story) has to do with a visit that Fonda was supposed to have made to some restaurant in WI or MN awhile ago. That's an urban legend, but NOT the passing of notes by POWs in Vietnam in 1972, during her visit. That story is true, according to the author of this article, and confirmed by her with Colonel Ollie North.
Thank you for both of ya'lls posts regarding the snopes.com reference in regards to Jane Fonda and the note passing---
I thought that Ollie looked totally credible the other night when he was arguing with Alan Colmes, but I didn't know anything about snopes.com, so I didn't know how credible it was...
Just like I question when people quote factcheck.com to make a political point, I never know how on the up and up factcheck.org? com? is---do ya'll know about that website also?
Seems to fit in with everything else that "ClearCase_guy" has posted lately.
I never understood all that "Alan is a nice guy" crap. He's a snide lying piece of commie sh*t as far as I'm concerned.
I've heard from more than one student (expert?) on these fast check sites, that snopes.com is often wrong, or not up to speed on issues and stories.......hence not 100% reliable by any means.
I like Sean, and he does do a lot to awaken the consciences of otherwise unthinking people, but Lord, does he does know how to beat a dead horse (of course he sits next to a horse's ass an hour every day so it may be a defense mechanism at work).
I've actually known some (very shallow) people who started thinking because they listened to him. They started listening to him, "because he's cute."
Whatever it takes, I suppose....
