FreeRepublic Pledges (Vanity)
TheHound

Posted on 04/06/2005 6:50:29 PM PDT by TheHound

Why do these pledge periods have to take so long? For a measly $66,000, I would think the pledge period would only last about a week. If everyone who used this cite for longer, in a year, than they do reading a magazine subsciption, pledged the price of a magazine subscription, I believe the pledge amount would be met in about two days. I certainly hope the day never comes when I have to see "Cialis" ads blinking on the right side of the FR page so they can pay for bandwidth!

Yay, the FReepathon goal has been reached despite the naysayers. :-)

And yet after all of this you have yet to post to Jim Robinson himself and ask him.

I don't see why you are asking other people rather then the man who would know. I usually go straight to the top with my questions. Why are you not doing that?

After he got a half-dozen pings from the people responding to me, I didn't think it was necessary. I'm sure he knows this is here, and will answer if and when he deems it appropriate.

I get many ping with multiple screen names in the title. I generally give them a pass especially if I am very busy.

Is there some reason you don't want to just post to him and ask?

Considering that most of the negative responses I've gotten are from some of the people most deeply involved in handling and running the fundraisers here, I seriously, seriously doubt he's unaware of this thread. If you think it's necessary, feel free to ping him, though. Again.

I don't have the question, you do.

So ask the man with the answers to his face. Why are you reluctant to do that?

Why aren't you interested in the answer? Don't you care?

I never said if I cared or did not care. You jump to conclusions. Any questions I may have about anything I ask the appropriate person.

Why you are refusing to ask the man who can give you the answer to your question? You claim to want it. And yet you refuse to ask that person.

I'd like to know too......

There is nearly a $14,000 dollar discrepancy between the stated site needs and the most recent fund raiser declared receipts. The question which contain no accusations within it, simply asks where it went.

It seems that when ever this question is asked, the asker has usually paid a price. So with that in mind, let's cut to the chase.

All the extra money is being sent to me, so I can work on putting together FR's "swimsuit" edition. It's a hard, demanding task, but I don't mind, because it's for a good cause. This was supposed to be a secret, but now you know.

Not so fast, wise guy; if you read the frantic posts of some the lunatic fringe former Freepers over at LP, you'll know that they are on to the fact that you are ACTUALLY Jim Robinson, and the funds a used to secretly support Darwin Central's diabolical plans to promote the Theory of Evolution on FR, and thereby foster a society which embraces animalistic sexual licentiousness and deviancy, with the ultimate objective of impurifying all of our precious bodily fluids.

You may have us fooled, but you haven't fooled the brain trust of banned FR trolls and disruptors who conduct Festivals of Paraniod Conspiracy Making over at LP....

I am not "refusing" to do anything. You really shouldn't criticize others for drawing conclusions in one breath, and then do the same in the next. As I said, I didn't feel it was necessary, as he got pinged several time by several other posters. In addition to that, I've been assured that this question has been asked and answered many times before. If that's the case, then it's doubly unnecessary to bring him in - someone can just point me to one of those previous answers, and I'll go away happy. Do you wish to dispute that, and inform me that, in fact, this question has never been answered before?

We had some extraordinary expenses above and beyond our ordinary budgeted expenses last quarter and this. Mainly to do with our two DC events, a certain legal matter, and taxes. Our cash reserves were completely depleted and we do like to maintain a cash balance for emergencies.

Many thanks for your support!

Whether you feel it is necessary or not common courtesy would be to go to him and ask. You have done a lot of assuming but you have yet to ask the man with the answers.

Why have you still not done that? It is very simple. You just put him name in the the To: box and then type your question below.
