Do you really believe this story?
Your screen name is an oxymoron and your distrust of the police is disgusting. Coincidence?

So, how do you like paying 50 cents per grocery bag? The environment is so important. (Just keep the conversation simple)

Yes, I actually believe what they say.

I do too. You can't automatically assume the cops are lying. If the story gets fishy, I'll reconsider.

With the FFL laws it might be risky to plant any gun that had a readable serial number - too likely to have a tracable story with it.

Your screen name is an oxymoron and your distrust of the police is disgusting. - believe it or not 100% of the people in San Francisco are not democrats. We just had a court ruling indicating the police can confiscate your personal property and beat the crap out of you if you do not give them what they want (look up fajitagate) my distrust of the police department is founded in experience, and I agree with you my distrust is disgusting, I wish it were not so.

"Riiiiiiiiiiiiight. The cop who shot him just woke up this morning and said, "You know, today, I think I'll go shoot someone." Then, after he chose his target, pulled him over, peppersprayed him, and shot him, he planted a toy gun on the guy."

Nope, I think the guy was shot for reaching into the seat pocket. When there turned out to be no gun in the pocket, thats when they planted the gun on him. Happens all the time.

The only odd thing is that this time a replica was used. I guess real guns are getting too easy to trace and probably too expensive as well. Next they will be using squirt guns.

Cop was too dumb or too rushed to plant a real weapon to cover an unjustified shooting?

Thus the replica. I guess there is a limit to how many guns can disappear from the evidence room before the DA starts asking questions. Poor cops, reduced to toting around replica guns in order to cover up for their mistakes.

Hmmmm. I remember that there is SUPPOSEDLY a federal law, that replica guns(paintball, pellet, etc) are REQUIRED to have blaze orange at the end of the barrel.

Maybe the dead guy was color-blind.

probably going for his license and registration in his glove compartment

At that point, Faust "reached into that pouch and pulled that handgun out and began to point it at one of the officers

Doesn't quite sound that way...

I believe your logic is horribly flawed at best and non-existent at worst.

1. You assume he was reaching in the back pocket. You weren't there.

2. You assume the gun was planted. For this to be true, assumption #1 has to be correct.

Police Officers in Southern California make decent money. Why the hell would they risk their pension, salary, and benefits, to plant a gun on some no name guy?

You have to ask yourself what, is the probability of a gun being planted, versus the probability of a dumb idiot wanting to commit suicide by cop.

Do you know how the chain of custody works for items in the evidence room? I would guess not.

As far as poor cops, you probably make MUCH less than Law Enforcement Officers in Southern California.
