"Almost every university in the United States has a school of business, and what do they teach? They have got faculty members who teach how to bust unions. They have faculty members who teach how to make your workers work harder for lower wages, and if they protest, how do you suppress them."

WTF???

Slightly off topic, but....

Extracted from the article above:

Economics Professor Douglas Orr gave a short speech highlighting some of the things that are happening in American universities.

“Almost every university in the United States has a school of business, and what do they teach? ... They have faculty members who teach how to make your workers work harder for lower wages, and if they protest, how do you suppress them... "

Let's see if I have this right:
Colleges should teach students to encourage company workers to work less for more money?

That'll work great.

I wish they actually had brined him, as promised.

Well, my point is that his assertion that every college has business professors teaching all their business students how to suppress union activity is outrageous. I'm sure the number of business schools which teach Karl Marx's ideas ("comparative Government") outnumber union-busting professors 10:1. Especially given that most public-university professors are union members.

unions are the reason for outsourcing. outsourcing began when union salaries and benefits exceeded the contribution to the products.

this began after ww2, when union membership peaked.

it was then that american corporations started producing products in asia.

example of a union job that cannot be outsourced: a friend of mine worked for international bakery as a delivery man to supermarkets. he retired at age 57 and receives a pension and health care. he's now 85 years of age.

he's received a union pension and health care for more years than he worked.

include that into the price of your twinkie or wonder bread.

If I get any responses back, I'll let all of you know.
I'm glad this was posted because I didn't realize that there were talks again to bring him in after being shut down earlier in the year. I haven't seen anything on this in the Spokane news. Maybe that's a good thing. If he does come to EWU, wouldn't it be funny if there was no press coverage of it?

If they're so pissed off, why don't they get it over with and move to Moscow, or Brookline, or perhaps even Cambridge assachusetts.

The People's Republic of Cambridge welcomes commies and all the shiftless, indolent wackaroons of the liberal Left.

At least even Castro would probably have the common sense make Ward Churchlady work in in a field under the hot sun and teach him some hard lessons about working for the wonderful "dictatorship of the Proletariat" we hear these left wing wack jobs talk about so much.

I wouldn't count on it. The Cowles family that prints the Spokesman Review ador frauds like Churchill. They'll have a pro-Churchill editorial, as sure as the sun will rise.
