LOL. Was the Lawrence Summers (President of Harvard) in attendance? These people don't care about freedom of speech - they just hate America. Otherwise, we'd see similar protests on his behalf.

Pity you'll never see this kind of support for Laurence Summers at Harvard-academic freedom of speech is apparently reserved only for the politically correct. I know, this is old news but it bears repeating.

Rally draws hundreds for Ward Churchill
All brandishing torches and pitchforks, one hopes. :) The hundreds who rallied outside against Churchill in Whitewater, WI were shouted down "in the name of free speech" while attempting to have a moment of silence for the victims of 911. Of course, they only had candles - perhaps pitchforks would have been more effective.

As a graduate of Eastern Washington University, (I received my BA and MA at EWU) I'm truly appalled that the university would even consider bringing this charlatan on campus. Until reading this post, I thought the issue was dead and that he wasn't coming to EWU. I call out to all EWU alumni to express your anger over the mear chance that Churchill could be invited to speak. Let the university know your feelings.
Even though EWU is in conservative Eastern Washington, like any university there are a number of Liberal profs and staff. I can remember in 1986 as a courtesy telling one of my profs I would miss his class the next day because I would be in Spokane to see President Reagan who was visiting. Believe it or not, the prof questioned why I would want to miss something important like his class just to go see Reagan. I wasn't skipping out on a test or anything like that, just a 45 minute lecture. I along with many other Young Republicans went to see the President anyway. I certainly hope the EWU Young Republicans are still active and have a heyday with the Churchill supporters.

Nostalgia days for the New Left of the 60's, which is now the Old, Washed-Up Left. Time to cut classes, cancel final exams, and meet some chicks.

WARD CHURCHILL DEFAULTED ON HIS SCHOOL LOANS. THAT'S PUBLIC RECORD. DOES THE UNIVERSITY CARE? The list of this man's frauds and deceptions keeps growing:
- a tenured professor at a major university without a PhD
- has copied others art work and passed it off as his own
- passed off other academic's work as his own
- lied about his ethnicity and tried to buy his way into a tribe
How can the U of Colorado keep this charlatan on the faculty and maintain any credibility? The answer is they can't!
