Police in Greensboro said Wednesday that a 16-year-old has been arrested in connection with a series of recent bomb threats.

Tony Wayne Moore was arrested late Tuesday night at a residence on Cranbrook Street, police said. He is charged with 20 felony counts of making false reports concerning a destructive device, according to authorities.

More than 50 bomb threats have been called in to various businesses and government buildings since March 24. Police said the bomb threats are not terrorist related.

"We did look at this and found no nexus or connection to domestic terrorism in this at this point," said Chief of Police David Wray. "Although the investigation will certainly continue."

In a statement, police said that more charges are likely. The arrest followed a joint investigation between local police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with assistance from the U.S. Marshal's Service, authorities said.

Moore was placed in the Guilford County Jail under a $250,000 bond.

Bomb threat clarification bill approved by N.C. House
3/30/2005 10:05 AM
By: Associated Press

(RALEIGH) - Making a bomb threat alleging an explosive device outside a building, not just inside, would be a felony in a measure unanimously approved by the House.

The bill sponsor, Republican Representative Mark Hilton, filed the bill after someone made a bomb threat to the Lenoir police department. Caldwell County prosecutors couldn't prosecute the case as strongly as they would have liked because the caller claimed the bomb was outside the building.

The measure was approved by a vote of 117-0 and sent to the Senate on a voice vote. The bill makes it clear that a person making a bomb threat is guilty of a felony when the alleged destructive device is "in sufficient proximity to cause damage" to any public building.

It's strange there is no mention of Tony Wayne Moore's agenda. If he were a neo-Nazi, it would have been in the story. It makes me wonder if he was a leftist of some sort.

I saw this story on the news--the kid doesn't look like a leftist. He probably has too much time on his hands and no parental supervision.

He may be saved from this law by the grandfather principle. The action happened before the law was set.

Solution to punks like this:

Big guy. One knee pinning his chest down. Brass knuckles for ten minutes.

Televised.
