Device lets you out-Fox your TV

By Emily Fredrix

The Associated Press

This device blocks the reception of the Fox News Channel.

E-mail article Print view Search Most e-mailed Most read RSS It's not that Sam Kimery objects to the views expressed on Fox News Channel. The creator of the "Fox Blocker" contends the network is not news at all.

Kimery says he has sold about 100 of the little silver bits of metal that screw into the back of most televisions, allowing people to filter Fox News from their sets. The Tulsa, Okla., resident also has received thousands of e-mails, both angry and complimentary, as well as a few death threats since the device debuted in August.

"Apparently the making of terroristic threats against those who don't share your views is a high art form among a certain core audience," said Kimery, 45.

Formerly a registered Republican, even a precinct captain, Kimery became an independent in the 1990s when he said the state party stopped taking input from everyday members.

Sam Kimery is the creator of the "Fox Blocker."

Kimery now contends Fox News' top-level management dictates a conservative journalistic bias, that inaccuracies never are retracted, and what airs is more opinion than news.

This deserves page A2 of the Seattle Times? I think the main stream news media is running scared of FOX News.

Fox News drives liberals crazy. They pine in longing for the good ol' days when the MSM monopoly ruled.

(Denny Crane: "Sometimes you can only look for answers from God and failing that... and Fox News".)

Or you could just program your remote to skip that channel.

People who buy this kind of stuff are too dumb to own anything more complicated then a rock.

"Do they make one that blocks Katie Couric? and Michael Moore?"

If someone did, do you think the AP would write a story about it?

How many stupid liberals will buy this thing too? Unreal, just delete it from the TV or cable/satellite reciever when you program the stations. Then again, this may be too much for the everyday DUmmie to handle.

Sounds like a leftist schmuck to me. On the other hand, I agree with the principle of allowing people to recieve only the channels of their choosing. So if liberals get their panties in a wad having to click past Fox every now and again, let the buffoons block it.

The remote control has apparently out-foxed these morons...

I'd say the guy that built this little tool is a freakin' genious. I mean, if he had built it to block out liberal media no one would have bought it because those of us who are smart enough to not watch liberal "news" are smart enough to just TURN THE FREAKING CHANNEL. Leave it to these fruit-cakes to PAY for something that has no more functionality than the "channel ^" button that comes standard on all televisions and remote controls. DUH!

The Seattle Times just learned of this? I read stories about it before the election.

Of course, there's no need whatsoever for a CNN blocker, they're dying out on their own just fine.

Death threats. . .right. . .like all those alleged "hate crimes" that were found to be done by the "victim," this too smells of fraud.
