Michael Schiavo lawyer gave to judge's campaign

The judge who tried the Terri Schiavo case and most recently rejected Gov. Jeb Bush's request to intervene, received a campaign contribution from the lawyer pressing for the brain-injured woman's death, raising questions of a conflict of interest.

According to Florida's Department of State, Pinellas County Circuit Court Judge George W. Greer received a contribution of $250 for his 2004 re-election campaign from Felos & Felos, the law firm of George Felos.

Felos, known as a "right-to-die" advocate, represents Terri Schiavo's estranged husband, Michael Schiavo, who won a court order from Greer to have the woman's life-sustaining feeding tube removed one week ago.

The contribution's apparent conflict of interest was raised by an Internet site investigating the Schiavo case, the Empire Journal, and by Rev. D. James Kennedy's group Center for Reclaiming America.

would not a contribution like this cause an appearance of impropriety and should not the judge recuse himself from this case?

Interesting. Bribe?

Not for $250. Definitely conflict of interest, though.

I don't think the local police would dare "showdown" with a federal SWAT team.

God Bless you Terri in your hour of death.

May all who said your smile was fake be haunted by it for the rest of their lives.

I do think this is very suspicious. But I also think we should be careful about calling campaign contributions bribes. Otherwise we risk going down the road of the liberals, where President Bush should't do anything in the interests of businessmen or the pro-life community or NRA members just because they gave him campaign contributions. I suppose you could say that judges are different, but in that case, maybe judges shouldn't be elected. I mean that non-facetiously.

You have a good point, though; I'm just wondering about the logical consequences of this stance. I'd be happy to hear any other thoughts on this particular sub-issue, since my opinion on campaign contributions for judges isn't firmly set.

I suspect their is serious corruption involved in this case. We will learn the details only if it is investigated by law enforcement and other government agencies. But because of all the political connections involved, I do not hold much hope that such an investigation will occur.

these contributions are the TIP OF THE ICEBERG.

Here are the records of the Hospice. Can YOU find who was listed a few years ago?

Interesting. Are there any figures on donations by the lawyers on Terri's parents' side, if any?

I'm sure an investigation will occur.

And maybe the state will go after Michael Schiavo for murder.

But Terri Schiavo will still be dead.

It's not about kickbacks to the Judge, it's about Judicial murder and systematic torture of the conscious handicapped.

I only pointed out a week or so ago that this info was publicly available in the Florida database. But that was back when I held the totally unjustifiable view that Saint Michael Schiavo might be culpable in his wife's injuries and riding a corrupt system to have her legally murdered. Now that I've been properly chastened, these things are no longer meaningful in my assessment of the untainted, pure heart of any man who very understandably just wants the b*tch to die. Why, I wouldn't object if it were Bill Clinton, why should I object in this case?

Michael Schiavo lawyer gave to judge's campaign ....................

......................... and got his money's worth.

*********

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=43463 ---- Among the neglect and abuse complaints of the Schindlers is that Michael Schiavo:

Has not allowed therapy or rehabilitation since late 1992, despite medical records indicating Terri is responsive.

Has prevented swallowing tests or swallowing therapy since 1993, despite medical testimony Terri can be taught to eat.

Ordered caretakers not to clean Terri's teeth since 1995, resulting in removal of five teeth in April 2004.

Placed Terri in hospice in 2000, despite the fact she is not terminally ill.

Refuses to allow Terri to leave her room. She has not been outside since 2000.

Has refused to fix her wheelchair since 2000.

Refuses to allow Terri to practice her Catholic faith by attending weekly mass.

Ordered Terri's shades down at all times.

Ordered doctors not to treat Terri when she had a life threatening infection in 1993 and 1995.

Removes family pictures from Terri's room, denies flowers from family and friends, denies certain CDs to be played for Terri, and refuses to allow her to listen to music with headphones.

Refuses to release medical information to her parents since 1993, despite a court order requiring him to do so.

Has limited the visitors list, requiring they must first be approved by him and removes visitors at his own discretion. Schiavo removed the Schindlers from the visitors list a total of eight months between 2001 and 2004.

Denies all requests for Terri to attend nursing home functions and refuses to allow therapeutic animals to visit with her, knowing that she is an animal lover.

"Michael claims he loves Terri, and he has said it on numerous occasions, but he treats her in a way I don't think most of us would treat our own pets," Bobby Schindler told WND.

Very indicative of a nasty bast*rd!

There's a lot of corruption in that county, even leaving out the Schiavo case. Something many people probably do not know, for example, is that Bishop Lynch just managed to avoid prosecution for giving out no-bid contracts on church construction. He had a track record of this stuff when he came to the diocese, in fact, and he's obviously right at home with the corruption and conflict of interest that is rife in that area.

Those are pictures of a very sweet and pretty girl. It is disgusting what this husband has apparently done to her over the years, and what he continues to get away with it...... with the old mianstream media's complicity. It sickens me!
