A Yemeni immigrant who was discharged from the U.S. Air Force after expressing sympathy for Osama bin Laden following the Sept. 11 attacks faces trial next week on accusations of lying to land a job as an airport screener.
Sadeq Naji Ahmed, 25, a former airman at Eglin Air Force Base in Pensacola, Fla., faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted of making false statements on a questionnaire to get a job with the Transportation Security Administration at Detroit Metropolitan Airport.

The story continues, "This is a case of vast government overkill," defense lawyer William Swor said Thursday...
On the contrary, a case of vast government underkill. Ahmed ought to be at Guantanamo for the duration of the war against Islamofascism.

Eglin AFB is not in Pensacola, Florida. It is at Fort Walton Beach, Florida....about 40 miles from Pensacola.

I hope this creep is being watched and his activities and friends carefully scrutinized. He is just the sort of sleeper agent Al Qeada would love to have around.

I wonder if Logan Airport has the 'no bid contracts' situation like Detroit Metro.

Just another ROP terrorist sympathizer, nothing new, but the disturbing part of this story is that the U.S. Air Force gave him an honorable discharge, enabling him to seek another security sensitive job and possibly endanger us all. Of all of the job opportunities probably available to him as an honorably discharged U.S. Air Force information systems analyst, he just happens to want to be a lowly airport screener so badly that he lied on his application, yeah sure...
He says his comments were taken out of context. This is what he said:
"The indictment said that Ahmed made statements in support of bin Laden, that he was neither for or against the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, that the United States deserved to be attacked, that he would not fight if the U.S. military took action in Iraq and that U.S. aircraft flying over Iraq should crash.
What "context" could that have been "taken out of?"
6 days after saying these things, his security clearance was revoked, five days after that he was honorably discharged?

The USAF actually gave him an honorable discharge after he "made statements in support of bin Laden, that he was neither for or against the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, that the United States deserved to be attacked, that he would not fight if the U.S. military took action in Iraq and that U.S. aircraft flying over Iraq should crash."
Gave him an honorable discharge! So that he could get another security sensitive job!!

This is very troubling. How could this guy not have been put on some FBI Watch List from the day he left the AF?

The USAF actually gave him an honorable discharge instead of alerting the FBI. Cleared the way for him to get a sensitive new job. PC beurocrats assisting potential terrorsists.
