You are so right and I am very shocked by many people on here, would have never beleive Freepers could be the way some are ranting and raving, name calling and hurtful to other Freepers.

If you think you obey the pope, then review Evangelium Vitae and his other writings on life and particularly those on what is required and what is prohibited in the face of imminent and irreversible death, before defending Michael Schiavo, George Felos, George Greer, James Whittemore and their mutual efforts to murder this woman who faces imminent death, not naturally, but because of their mutual determination to murder her (there is no other word that will adequately and accurately describe their efforts).

Words have meanings. Instead of not shrinking from judging Madprof98, you should not shrink from calling Michael Schiavo, et al., what they manifestly are: people engaged in attempted murder.

Thank you so much! I am so distressed to that any anyone who holds a differing opinion, even if it's by milimeters, is evil. I went to a reconciliation service last night at church and the homily was essentially: Keep out of your neighbors sins, deal with your own.

That said, prayers to the Pope.

I'm sorry, I didn't read your comments at all.

Yet you approved of a long diatribe against them.

You have no idea about me and have no basis to comment on my faithfulness to the Pope or the Church.

Your assumptions are faulty (as is your habit).

OK, I just read the comments that you wrote which probably were the catalyst:

Stop. Those in the "kill Terri" crowd probably are people of goodwill who believe the medical findings that she's in a PVS. That is not evil and it is not completely unreasonable.

Regardless of whether or not a human being is in a PVS, they are not to be starved and dehydrated to death. Period. If it is painless and euphoric and natural (from whose personal experience?) then why do we feed the poor and why is is illegal to treat animals that way - and - why is she being given pain medication during the slow starvation if she cannot feel pain? People of 'goodwill' do not condone starving other human beings to death.

But why do some resort to name-calling and rudeness? Why can't the discourse remain civil? Smacks of the sin of pride to me.

It would be rather creepy if he passed away Friday

Lots of people will. No big deal.

What a beautiful thought. How many of us have thought to pray for Michael Shiavo? Maybe the Lord can touch his heart as he did yours.

CM: Actually we need to stop all of the wepy equivocating and handkerchief twisting and recover the ability to call a spade a spade and to call attempted murderers, ummmmm, attempted murderers. Just because some self-interested lying jackass like Michael Schiavo makes up fantasies to preserve the cash and possibly protect his backside, does NOT mean that he has created a legitimate argument.

If you claim that the sun appears to rise in the west, you have not opened a legitimate argument. It is heartbreaking that they are trying to murder her. It is conflicting only as a Red Chinese invasion of sovereign Taiwan would be "conflicting." It has overwhelmed only weak minds. No brilliance has emanated from the bench in this "controversy." It is very simple: Will Terri be required to be murdered by dehydration and starvation or will the government intervene to gurantee her right to life? Not overwhelming at all.

Keep out of your neighbors sins, deal with your own.

First they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the Communists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left
to speak out for me.

Pastor Martin Niemöller --------------------------------------

There are some things that you need to speak out on... like the slow and painful starvation of your sister in Christ.

Excuse me, but the point was about demonizing good freepers.

Then you and others make the assumption that my statement of that obvious fact must mean my own point of view is at odds with your own.

Then someone goes on at length in an inappropriate and outrageously false description of my position and you pop in saying how wonderful it all is and the spin stops with that person.

I said nothing to warrant that attack on my standing as a Catholic.

I agree it's wrong. Terri is suffering and dying a painful . But I am troubled by the political ramifications, too. Reasonable people can feel both ways.

I'm troubled by the political ramifications as well... and it pains me to see that this has turned political, particularly painful to see that quite a few people attribute less than honest political motivations to some who I believe are passionately concerned for a physically healthy human being being starved and dehydrated to death. I believe those people see the hypocracy of humane laws guarding against the starvation of animals yet a human being is not afforded the same safety net.

What did it was the reminder last weekend that a stone killer can accept Christ from the guidance of the very person he took as hostage.

We forget that the Apostle Paul used to be Saul, and used to murder Christians by the bushel.

Michael Schiavo has a new woman in his life, and kids. At some point that begins to work on you.

I have a "Holy Father" who isn't going anywhere, because He said He would never leave us or forsake us.

Just sayin'. ;-)
