It's a 'common' accepted fact that a 'normal, functioning' human, only uses 10% of their brain to live/function/etc.

I've read that therapy, after a major 'brain event', somehow, 'persuades' the brain to relearn/rebuild the pathways that were lost.

It seems that there are MANY people who want to eliminate ANY hope of Terri being afforded that chance.

This is NOT a slippery slope. It's more like 'we' are standing at the crumbling edge of a bottomless chasm.

So, Judge Greer has been rejecting witnesses, rejecting contrary evidence, and rejecting appeals from the family in this case since before spring, 2001.

By now, it is simply an intense power struggle = Greer wants her dead because the family is not bowing to HIS judicial authority.

And Schiavo simply, intensely, (insanely ?) wants her dead. Period.

And the pro-abortion MSM (and others like Neal Boortz) wants us (pro-life groups) to go away. They aren't interested in her as a person, but hate her as a focus of being pro-life.

IN A LIFE IN WHICH I'VE SEEN AND HEARD MANY CREEPY THINGS, IT TAKES A LOT OF MAKE THE HAIR ON THE BACK OF MY NECK STAND UP, but now I am officially creeped out. I admit I haven't given too much thought to Michael Schiavo's lawyer, George Felos. I wrote him off as simply another cell in the vast pond scum that covers the surface of what is called "the legal profession." Then a passing comment at another site caused me to search out his book. I found it first on Amazon, but the reviews there were suspect so I decided I couldn't form an opinion from those. Then I went to the site of his "publisher," Blue Dolphin, reasoning that they would put forward Felos' book in the best possible light. Perhaps they do. I still believe there is some unaccounted money up for the taken once she dies and more than the little $1 million offered. It could be a term life policy? This also could be the way she was injured? There has been speculation that he had actually slowly poisoned her with non traceable amounts of rat poison. He maybe afraid that if she recovers even a bit she could spill the beans. Too many questions that haven't been answered or questions of her true condition.

There has been entirely too much speculation surrounding the case!

We should make all effort to deal with facts as we can find them. And discuss nothing but facts. Speculations are useless and serve only to inflame public opinions.

I will agree, however, there are a lot of questions that need to be answered, based on some of the facts uncovered. Facts such Doctor's report on trauma, Michael being fired as Jail Nurse, his observed comments at the hospital, etc.

WOW. Boy do I feel stupid. For years and years, I remember being taught that 'we' only utilize that 10% of our brains. LOL...they even taught that in my nursing school.

NOT trying to argue with ya/discredit ya.

I WILL be looking at your link later. I don't mind learning new things or stuff that isn't what I was taught.

Right now, I'm taking a 'break' from getting our oldest girl, 'in gear' for a flight out to a fellow FReeper. And the child is soooo wound up about this new experience, she's 'irritating' me. (sigh)

Speculation is the exact argument that Michael and kin put before these courts pretending them to be fact. Common sense is sometimes based on norm. It is more likely than not that she never stated she wanted to be deprived of nourishment that would lead to her death. Michael testified in court that a 21 year old female, his wife, had nothing better to do than think about her own death and medical tools used to prevent this death and her profound objection to them? Not likely! A 21 year old attractive female, no kids, in Florida, talking about going to the beach is more likely. Fact are short in this case but one thing that is the most obvious fact is, Terri is a living creation of God and God will take her on his own schedule.
