Just pretend you're Ronald Reagan and you'll make a good transition. Ask yourself "WWRRD?" and you'll blend right in before you know it.

Welcome, and remember that being a Texan is a privelege, not a right.

Welcome to Texas! :^D

L,TOWM is moving to Texas

Excerpt:

Thursday the 24th, my stuff gets loaded up and sent east. I am a California Native, but this is not the same State I grew up in. Time to find my place in the sun, by my pool, at my house. That place is Allen, TX.

Any North Dallas/Collin County people pinged to this thread -- My first priority is to find a Bible Thumping, Spirit Filled Jesus Freak style church. If that church has an active homeschool ministry and a Choir that has room for an average (at best) bass singer, that would be great. Any suggestions on churches would be great. Also, suggestions on the utilities situation, things to help my family get settled in, and particulars on the community would be welcome.

To the CA crew, it was fun shooting at Burro Canyon and Freeping the antiwar wackjobs in September 2001. I'll miss CA, but I am already a home owner in Texas. Which is something that some one in CA will not be able to say for quite some time, unless they already are one. Keep up the good fight, and hold Ahhhnold's feet to the fire. I'm outta here.

Please let me know if you want ON or OFF my Texas ping list!. . .don't be shy.
No, you don't HAVE to be a Texan to get on this list!

Well, since you're from Kalifornee, you're probably used to the sun.
Plenty of it here!

And when we get rain, we sometimes get rainbows. Like THIS one
that appeared last November 23rd in my back yard!:

Had I got home five minutes earlier - and 5 minutes earlier grabbin'
my camera - I'd have caught that rainbow in its' full bloom and glory.

Indianola! My grandmother was born there in about 1880. Bet you didn't know it was a thriving community then. You could never tell by looking at it now. It was blown away by hurricanes 3 times by 1900 and everybody moved away. That part of the coast is called hurricane alley.

Welcome to the great State of Texas!

Just one question.. what side did your people fight on in the War of Northern Aggression?

No offense meant to Californians, but Arnold is a good representation of what's happened to that state:

Welcome to Texas!

My people did'nt get here until the 1870's. The subject never really came up in my family.

Although I will say, I must had some idiots for ancestors -- they left Scandanavia, and picked out places to live as cold and nasty as the ones they left. Chicago for my father's side, and Minnesota for my mom's people.

If it helps any, I had an uncle die in his 50's because of his generally poor health and malaria that he contracted fighting against the Japanese with the USMC for two years on Bouganville.
