MS-13 called an emerging threat to U.S.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- More than 100 alleged members of the violent Honduran street gang MS-13 have been arrested in a nationwide sweep, authorities said Monday.

Using information from local and state law enforcement agencies, federal agents charged 103 members of the Mara Salvatrucha, or MS-13, gang with a range of criminal and immigration charges.

The arrests came in the New York, Washington, Los Angeles, Baltimore, Newark, Miami and Dallas metropolitan areas over the last several weeks.

Officials said MS-13 is one of the largest and most violent street gangs in the United States, and the majority of its members are in the country illegally. The gang has carried out beheadings and grenade attacks in Central America and is known to hack their enemies with machetes in cities along the East Coast in the United States.

Good work!
While they're at it, there's still 16 FALN terrorists back on the loose thanks to WJC.

"Recently, al Qaeda lieutenant Adnan El Shukrijumah was seen in Honduras, meeting with leaders of a notorious Latin American gang known as Mara Salvatrucha or MS-13. The United States has placed a $5 million bounty upon the head of El Shukrijumah.

MS-13 which is notorious for smuggling illegal aliens, drugs, and weapons into the U.S., operates a large smuggling center in Matamoros, Mexico. From this center, they smuggle gang members from Central and South America into the U.S. over the Mexican border. It is becoming increasingly apparent that this gang has already began helping Muslim terrorists enter this country.

MS-13 also engages in the typical gang crimes such as robberies, rapes, killings, carjackings, etc. The Latin American gang earned an extremely violent reputation in Los Angeles during the 1980's. They now operate in at least 14 states and the District of Columbia. According to local law enforcement officials, there are more than 3,000 MS-13 members operating in the Washington D.C. area. Just outside D.C., a 16-year-old Alexandria boy was attacked by MS-13 members who used a machete to mutilate the boy's hands."

kelly, that report must be eroneous; why we all just KNOW that none of those criminal aliens are going to commit any violent crime - they just want to work here and be peaceful citizens respecting our laws.

Well, except for our immigration laws.

/sarcasm

Our leadership is apparently so corrupted with donations that American citizens interests are not ont he radar anymore.

Secure the borders, fine employers who hire illegals and deport the illegals!

Ike did it, so can Bush!

It's costing California alone NINE BILLION DOLLARS A YEAR TO ALLOW THEM TO STAY HERE!

Kelly

Google ms-13. Eye opening. Even law enforcement says 'they're different'.

Here is the paragraph that grabs me!

>>>Since 2000, more than 4,000 people from the countries of Saudi Arabia, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Afghanistan, Yemen, Somalia, Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon were apprehended at the U.S.-Mexican border. Can you imagine how many we failed to capture? <<<

I don't know where he got this statistic, but if accurate, it is criminal negligence on the part of the US government. I wish I knew how to convince Bush to get his arms around this problem. I've sent several letters and called the White House once.....as have thousands of others.

Maybe we should concentrate on Cheney and Rove - they have the Presidents ear and might get through to him. congress is a waste of time until we get bush on board!

....From October of last year to August 25, 2004, 55,890 illegal aliens OTM’s (other than Mexicans) were caught as they crossed the border from Middle Eastern countries hostile to the USA. That’s only the ones they caught. Border Patrol catches only one in four....

FORBES MAGAZINE tabulated a $7 billion annual business for smuggling illegals from the Middle East, China, India and South America. Aliens arrive in big busses which disperse them to vans and SUV’s--to be driven to pickup points where ‘coyotes’ await to bring them across the border in the dead of night. Those coyotes along with drug smugglers rape and even kill their clients in the desert. One coyote makes $5,000.00 per week....

“Corporate America thrives on illegals,” Steele reported. “Corporate managers go so far as to place orders with smugglers for a specific number of bodies to be delivered,” Steele reported. “They employ illegal aliens at wages so low that few citizens could afford to take the jobs, but it’s great for profits and stockholders…that’s why the payrolls of so many businesses—meat packers, poultry processors, landscape firms, construction companies, office cleaning firms and corner stores among others—are jammed with illegals…companies are rarely if ever punished.” ....

The TIME report exposed a growing crime network. Now operating in 28 cities, MS-13 gangs rob, kill, distribute drugs and run prostitution rings while being protected by “Special Order 40.”

MS-13 Creating Huge Problems in the US
FBI confronts new gang threat

The director of a new task force says Al Qaeda has no ties to Central American gangs.

By Danna Harman | Staff writer of The Christian Science Monitor

SAN SALVADOR - A notorious street gang based in El Salvador has rapidly spread into 31 US states and raised enough concern for the Justice Department to create a new high-level task force to battle it. But the head of the task force says the gang has no Al Qaeda connections - despite comments made Monday by El Salvador's president.

"The FBI, in concert with the US intelligence community and government of several Central American republics, has determined that there is no basis in fact to support this allegation of Al Qaeda or even radical Islamic ties to MS13 [a.ka. Mara Salvatrucha]," says Robert Clifford, director of the new force, who is in El Salvador this week to discuss cooperation with his Central American counterparts.
....
MS13 has been operating for years in the US, and is neither the biggest gang in the US nor, statistically speaking, the most violent - a dubious distinction claimed by a rival Salvadoran group, the 18th Street gang.

Clifford explains that in the past two years there has been a rapid expansion of MS13 branches throughout the US. During that time, there have been 18 MS13-related killings in North Carolina, 11 in Northern Virginia, and at least eight in Los Angeles. Members are showing up in places as disparate as Boston and Omaha, Neb.

MS13 sprang up in California in the late 1980s, when Salvadoran refugees, having fled the violent civil war back home, began forming protection groups against existing Hispanic gangs in their new neighborhoods. In time, they turned to such illegal activities as burglaries, auto thefts, drug trafficking, weapons smuggling, extortion, rape, and murder.

By the 1990s, US law enforcement was taking note of the group, and many members were deported to El Salvador, where they set up branches and, in many cases, returned to the US. Today there are 8,000 to 10,000 members of MS13 in 31 states, according to the National Drug Intelligence Center, an arm of the Justice Department. The number rises to 50,000 internationally.

La Voz de Aztlan

Los Angeles, Alta California - March 1, 2005 - (ACN) It looks like there is going to be a "showdown at OK corral" on April 1st in Tombstone, Arizona. A high level leader of the Mara Salvatruchas, Ebner Anivel Rivera-Paz, has issued orders, from federal prison, to members of his extremely violent organization to teach the Minutemen vigilantes a lesson they will never forget, La Voz de Aztlan has learned.
.....
Today, the Mara Salvatruchas have grown immensely in numbers and their network has expanded through Mexico all the way to Canada. The extremely violent group controls large portions of the drug, stolen vehicle and immigrant smuggling operations along the US/Mexico border and will not put up with clowns like the Minutemen vigilantes. The amateurish Minutemen may be in for a big surprise on April Fools Day and on the subsequent days that they plan to patrol the border with Mexico in Arizona. The Mara Salvatruchas are known to cut the "testicles" of their enemies and feed them to their vicious dogs. Other times they have cut the heads off their opponents to play football soccer with them. These are not people to mess around with.

I've heard and read all the things. They're still just a gang. Al Capone wasn't exactly a sweet fellow, either.
