Bisbee is actually three towns, the artsie-fartsie left overs from the '60s, the RAINBOW Flag crowd, and in the area called Warren the average Joe American that really understands what it is all about.
When the mine closed because of falling copper prices and the miners moved out the first two moved in to snap up home for pennies on the dollar. It has remained thus ever since. Until the price of copper makes reopening the mine feasible (I mean profitable) it will remain as it is.
LOL they can do that without La Raza.
Whatever happens, the publicity generated should awaken the national body politic to the illegal invasion here in southern Arizona. Politicians, the media, the university elites, and even the local Catholic bishop all applaud the illegal alien wave as a good thing.
I am disgusted with the Bush-Rove position on this massive problem. and they are close to losing my support.

We feel the U.S. should treat illegal aliens the same way other countries treat their illegal aliens, and how Vietnamese illegal aliens and their children were treated. Vietnamese will be treated fairly and no longer be discriminated against by the U.S. Government if it does the following:
1. Enforce all immigration laws. At a minimum these enforcement measures should include:
A) Businesses should be required to check the validity of new employees Social Security or work permit numbers.
B) Local and state law enforcement officers should verify the citizenship and immigration status of everyone they apprehend. Every illegal alien they apprehend should be detained and transferred to the Homeland Security Departments ICE division for deportation.
2. Children born to illegal aliens and guest workers in the U.S. should not be given U.S. citizenship. The U.S. is totally out of step with the rest of the world in this regard.
3. Any long term guest worker program (1 year or more) should only include foreigners outside the United States, not illegal aliens inside the U.S. To protect the wages of Vietnamese-Americans, the guest worker recommendations of the Jordan Commission should be followed.
4. We support U.S. investment in high immigrant sending countries to create more opportunities there. For example, we support the proposal where the U.S. would match any new funds Mexico spend on infrastructure, education, and law-enforcement improvements if they also institute free-market and anti-corruption reforms. Since a dollar goes much further in these countries, many times more people could be helped this way instead of helping only a relatively few by letting them into the U.S.
5. The U.S. should not allow legalized illegal aliens nor anyone they sponsored to sponsor their relatives for family preference immigration. This would eliminate the increased waiting times past legalizations of illegal aliens has created. For the minor children and spouses of legalized illegal aliens, a seperate temporary category could be set up as was done from 1992 to 1994.
6. Waiting times and backlongs would be further reduced if the diversity visa category was eliminated and family preference immigration increased a similar amount. This would also increase U.S. diversity much more than the current system, since almost half of the diversity admitees are from Europe.

That's probably an accurate answer.
Only a white surpremist would be for opening the border between Mexico and the USA. Personally, I love the Mexican culture and the people and to have an open border would hurt their culture. Anybody who supports Presidente Fox and his ONLY economic policy which is basically "If you want a better life, leave Mexico"...well...they are no friend of the Mexican who loves their country and chooses to stay.

Even if the civil watch group is not infiltrated by racist supremists, a modern government is always nervours if people start to form themselves into an armed or semi armed military formation. If the group makes a legal mistake the government will pounce on them, and if they are disciplined and keep out of trouble, the government will infiltrate them with provocateurs and get them into legal trouble. NO MODERN GOVERNMENT CAN AFFORD TO HAVE THEIR CIVIL POPULATION ORGANIZE A PARA MILITARY FORCE THAT IS INDEPENDENT OF THEIR CONTROL WITHOUT FEARING THAT SUCH AN ORGANIZATION MAY BECOME STRONG ENOUGH TO CHALLENGE THEIR AUTHORITY.

Not to worry. (I think.) At the 1964 Republican convention in San Francisco the Rockefeller Republicans attempted to smear the Goldwater delegates with similar mud.
Nelson, Scranton, et al. attempted to get a plank denouncing "extremists" -- aimed directly of course at one of the key founders and at supporters of modern conservatism.
Nelson condemned the "hawkers of hate" as Goldwater delegates shouted him down. I wish I could find that photo of Nelson giving the finger to the delegates! Classic.
Though Goldwater lost to LBJ years later we got Ronald Reagan. Hey! That ain't bad for a bunch of "hawkers of hate."
Nelson, et al. were polite and respectful toward Goldwater compared to the MSM. Goldwater to spend vacation at Hitler's retreat at Berchtesgarden, reported Daniel Schor. (Never mind that the U.S. Army was there now. I guess Dan didn't know.) Goldwater snaps, "No comment!" when asked about JFK's assassination, reported Walter Cronkite.
I fear that we ain't seen nothing yet, though. I fear April could be a month of Davidianization of citizen volunteers on the border.
