"The Mutant Killer Deer-dogs" would be a good name for a rock band.

I think you're onto something. The band I used to be in might have found more success with such a name. Then again, maybe "The Chrome Buzzards" just lacked the necessary talent.

I guess Womack's 20 years of experience is nothing compared to the "old timers". There's a lot to be said for old wisdom. We're talking about memories that can go back 75 years. I believe the guy when he says it's a mangy coyote. Mange is a deadly disgusting thing on any animal.

Ladies and gentlemen...THE CHROME BUZZARDS!
Yeah. Maybe you're right.

Yes, I know. I wondered what it was when the original picture came out. But you can see that the lower jaw has shriveled up for some reason. That's why the overbite. The animal must have suffered for a long time. I have seen what looks like a mangy possum in my front yard recently and keep thinking I should get it caged and taken away to protect the other animals. Maybe this will persuade me.
To: The Westerner
Luckily, I've not personally seen mange yet :)
And if you do go after that possum, be careful. You don't want to risk rabbis.

It is a Coyote with Mange and a Broken Jaw, it appears to have been shot bullet entering above it's right eye (no exit wound on photos) but two clearly different lower jaw lengths are shown, and Mange is not only obvious in the pictures, the person holding the animal with gloves saw it as obvious as well. (Thats one sick puppy!)

I have seen mangy, hairless coyotes in south Texas. They still look kinda like coyotes, I am surprised these people couldn't figure it out.

"I am surprised these people couldn't figure it out." I'm surprised too. I figured it out with one glance.
Heck, anyone who has seen the hair fall off a dog with a bad case of mange could figure it out.
It's highly contagious, too, by the way.
My kid's hair fell out from playing with a mangy dog.

PETA should like them without the fur, a mangy dog for the mangy dogs.
To: this_ol_patriot
I have to say that even Peta wouldn't defend a mangy critter. There is a limit to everything. Perhaps a limit to Peta's courage, for it takes real courage to handle livestock or wild animals with mange. Very contagious as mentioned above.

We-e-e-e-ell, I don't know about that, Quix...
I hope all is well. Check your mail.
